In the 1910 census, she is Gurena Elingboe (one L), age 30 and single, a nurse, living in the Glendora precinct of Los Angeles County, California. She is living with three other nurses (called her “partners”) from various states, all but one of whom, with Gurena, are working for a private family. She is Gerena Ellingboe, nurse, in the 1913 and 1915 directories for Visalia City and Tulare County, California. In the 1920 census she was Gurena May Preston, living with her 27 year-old husband Charles, and her son Claude, in Lindsey, Tulare County, California. She died as Gurena May Preston and is so listed in the California Death Index.
