    Alice V. Andreasen, 101, of Moorhead, MN, passed away quietly on June 30, 2012, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead.

    Alice was born August 26, 1910, to Thor and Ingeborg Hoivik, in St. Paul, MN. Following graduation from Mechanic Arts High School in St. Paul, she attended The Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, MN, where she met her future husband, Jacob Andreasen. Throughout her life she appreciated poetry, occasionally submitting poems for publication. She loved to play horseshoes and Scrabble, and watch the Minnesota Twins on television. She had a deep loyalty to her extended family and loved her Norwegian heritage. As a devoted pastor's wife, she was the homemaker in several parsonages, including Westby, WI, Roseau, MN, Viroqua, WI, Hitterdal, MN, and St. Paul. As a community volunteer, she served in the library in St. Paul, with her granddaughters, and later with the mailing team at Oak Grove Lutheran School in Fargo, ND.

    Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. Jacob Andreasen; two brothers, Tony and Duke Hoivik; and five sisters, Burnette (Andy) Andreasen, Irene (Glenn) Gustafson, Sunway (Almon) Brakke, Thelma (Gordon) Hill, and Lil (Earl) Horazdovsky.

    Alice is survived by her three children, Rev. John (Carol Sue) Andreasen, Moorhead, David (Enid) Andreasen, Ada, MN, and Esther Marie Magenta, Spokane, WA; eight grandchildren, Kjerstin Andreasen, Oslo, Norway, Christopher Andreasen, Fargo, Karin Andreasen, Miami Beach, FL, Eric Andreasen, East Grand Forks, MN, Nathan (Alison) Andreasen, Moorhead, Micah Andreasen, Ada, Sara (Andrew) Quinn, Reno, NV, and Kari (Chaedric) Meier, Eagle River, AK; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Carter Andreasen, Moorhead.
