    LOIS L. NYMAN, age 80 of Grand Rapids, MN, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in Grand Rapids. Lois was born in Montevideo, MN to Elmer and Agnes Lien in 1930. She was the oldest of three children, Margaret Ann and James Allen followed. Lois attended grade and high school in Maynard, MN, graduating in 1948. She attended St. Olaf College for a year before entering nurses training at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. After completing her training, Lois became a Registered Nurse in 1952. She continued to work at Fairview for 3 years before traveling to California to work at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles for 3 years. After her return to Minnesota, Lois was united in marriage to Robert Nyman in 1959. To their family was born 4 sons, Eric, Leif, Sten and Karl. In 1972, the family moved to Grand Rapids, where Bob became a realtor and also owned a print shop. After a time, Lois went to work at the Grand Rapids Hospital as a R.N. She worked there for 20 years, retiring in 1991. Lois also raised her brothers children, Sandra and David, from the time they were 7 and 10 years old. Lois was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. Preceding her in death were her parents, her sister and brother and sister-in-law. Survived by Four Sons- Eric Nyman of Hutchinson, MN, Leif Nyman and Sten Nyman, both of Grand Rapid, MN, and Karl Nyman of Coon Rapids, MN; Special Niece- Sandra (Tony) Filipiak of Grand Rapids, MN; Special Nephew- David Lien of Colorado Springs, CO; Grandchildren Sean and Faith A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Saturday, November 6th from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. Rev. Lynn Ronsberg will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.

    Notes:

    The Maynard community was saddened on Thursday evening, August 1st, by the announcement that Marguerite Lien had passed away at the Montevideo hospital, after an illness of but a few hours.

    Her death was the result of cerebral hemorrhage, the symptoms indicating her ailment becoming manifest shortly before noon.She lapsed into a coma about three o'clock. The doctor was called and she was immediately rushed to Montevideo hospital, where everything possible was done for her with out avail. She never regained consciousness.

    She was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lien, she was born in Maynard on November 28, 1931, died August 1st, 1946.Her age being 14 years, 8 months and 3 days.

    She was a member of the Maynard Lutheran Church, very active in the Sunday school, the choir, the Lutherans daughters of Fermentation and the Luther League and on June 9th this year she was a member of the Confirmation class of Fourteen.

    She was looking forward to the approaching school year with avid interest having finished her Freshman course last year with high standings and about to enter the Sophomore year with her classmates.

    She was a young lady of exceptional merit, popular among her classmates, and loved and respected by all with whom she came in contact with.

    Funeral services were conducted from the home at 1:45 and at the Maynard Lutheran Church at 2:00p.m. on Monday, August 5th.

    Internment occurred in the Maynard Lutheran cemetery.

    Pallbearers were; Willard Anderson, Dean Eggen, Gene Fransen, John Peterson, LaVere Ulvik, and Virgil Eckhoff.
    It is fitting that she should be accompanied to her final resting place by these her loving friends and classmates.
    She leaves to mourn her parents, sister Lois and brother James.

    James married Sharon Faith BOYCE on 18 May 1963. Sharon was born on 22 May 1940 in Chippewa County, Wisconsin; died on 11 Jul 1975 in Minnesota; was buried in Sunset Memorial Park, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
