Name |
Karl Johan Herman LUNDBERG |
Birth |
9 Oct 1876 |
Torup, Hallands län, Sweden |
Gender |
Male |
Death |
31 Aug 1900 |
Superior, Douglas County, Wisconsin |
Notes |
- Arrived with his parents and younger sisters in Boston in 1896.
He may be the Charles Johnson who was living with Oscar and Tillie in Superior in the 1900 census.
In the 1899 city directory for Superior, Charles Johnson, laborer, lived at 1205 N 3d, the address of Oscar Johnson. That Charles is still at the same address in the 1900 city directory. In the 1901 city directory, when Oscar lives at 510-1/2 Bay, there is a Carl Johnson, who also works at the St P & W Coal Co., who lives at 500 Bay.
There is a death record for a Charles Johnson, a single man who died 31 Aug 1900 in Douglas County, Wisconsin. That Charles was 23 when he died and was born in Sweden in 1877. His father was listed as August Sandberg. This Charles Johnson was buried in Pine City, Minnesota, according to that same death record in the “Wisconsin Deaths and Burials, 1835-1968.”
If we believe the 1910 census entry for Albertina, in which she is shown to have had 6 children, 4 still living, then either Emma or Karl Johan, but not both, were dead by 1910. That would be consistent with the death of Karl Johan, as Charles Johnson, in August of 1900.
The Charles Johnson who died in Superior on 31 August 1900 died of typhoid fever.
