  Notes	In the 1865 Norwegian census, he is Stasius Staalsen, age 35, living with his family on the Nordaardstrøen farm in Stod. His wife Manna is 40, their sons are Staal, 8, and John, 2. Stasius is a husmand med jord. In the 1880 census, he and his wife and son John live in Trondhjem Twp. “Statius” is 49, his wife Ellen is 52. In the 1900 census, he and his wife live alone in Trondhjem Twp. His birthdate is shown as March, 1831. In the 1905 state census, Stasius and Elianne live in Trondhjem Twp with their son, John and his family. He was one of the charter members of Trønderlag of America in 1908. This was (and still is) the bygdelag for emigrants and their descendants from the Trøndelag region of Norway.
