He attended Argyle schools. Laverne married Donna J. Marty on January 30, 1971 in Monroe. Laverne worked at Moore Business Forms for 25 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Church of God International, National Turkey Federation; he enjoyed turkey hunting, collecting toy tractors and cap guns. He is survived by his wife, Donna of Monroe; children: Michael (Kelly) Severson and Michelle (Brian) Senn, both of Monroe; grandchildren: Jared Harpstrite, Ally Severson, and Kara Jelle; sister, Diana Severson of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Virgil and Milfred; sisters: Janice Blum, Mary Lou Udelhoven, and Carol Jahn.
