- In the 1920 census, he is living with his widowed sister in Reno, Nevada, and working in advertising. He is listed as married but no wife is living with him. However, in the manifest for the S.S. Korea Maru, in which he arrived in Honolulu in March of 1920, he is listed as single.
The article in the San Pedro newspaper regarding he and Norma getting a marriage license described him as an “author of considerable note” who “spends much time in the mountains writing.”
In the 1930 census, he and Norma and Jean lived at the Mt. Wilson observatory in Pasadena where Arthur was an assistant.
