  Notes	Injured while playing hockey at Powderhorn park in January of 1940. Lacerated left ear. Served in the Army Air Force in England in World War II. He was a tail gunner in a B-24. He received a presidential citation, the distinguished flying cross, an air medal with four oak leaf clusters, and the war department’s citation. He met his wife at Covent Gardens and 14 weeks later they were married. He was the first American his future wife had ever met. By April of 1945, his wife was in Minneapolis and he was an instructor at Fort Myers, Florida. In December of 1964 he was elected commander of the Minneapolis chapter of the Disabled American Veterans.
