    Notes
    • Baptized as John Albert.

In the 1900 census, he was unmarried, living with his father and brothers in Union Twp, and working as a well driller.

He and his wife and sons live in Happy Valley, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, in Canada’s 1916 census. Also on that census page, and, thus, living nearby, were Albert’s brother Syvert and his wife.

He registered for the draft in Sheridan County, Montana, on 28 Sep 1918. At that time he was a farmer, apparently married, and living in Beugaugh, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was tall and slender with grey eyes and brown hair.

In the 1921 Canadian census, he and his family lived in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Included in the household was his mother-in-law, Caroline Elizabeth Knoble, age 80.

The notes for him in Find A Grave:

Albert John Skogstad was born in South Dakota. He married Ida E. Noble, the daughter of Alexander and Caroline "Carrie" E. Lemons Noble. Albert and Ida were the parents of three sons, Everett W., Wilbert G., and Norman C. Skogstad. In 1910, Albert and Ida, along with Ida's parents, applied for and obtained a homestead at Paisley Brook, new Bengough, Saskatchewan. Albert was moved to the hospital at Fort Qu'Appelle where he died in 1929. Due to distance he was unable to be buried in the area he had resided, so his body was interred in the Fort Qu'Appelle Cemetery. Cemetery officials confirm the burial location, and it has also been determined that no tombstone exists on the grave site.
