From the February, 1944, St. Olaf alumni magazine: “Augsburg Publishing House has just published a book which is the product of three Oles: Philip Dybvig, '23, and Randolph Haugen, '24, editors, and John Ellingboe, ‘27, artist. The book is "The Forward March of Faith," centennial publication of the Norwegian Lutheran Church. From the points of view of physical make-up, art, and literary content, the book is an extraordinarily fine piece of work.”

He designed their handmade Christmas cards every year and sent them out to family. They lived in Hemet for a time and raised Beagles there.”

From rubylane.com: “Ellingboe was born in Minnesota and lived there ‘till the 1950s, working for the Bureau of Engraving for many years. He became a commercial artist, then moved to California, residing in Glendale, California, by the mid-1950s. Later on, he moved out to Helmet, California.”
