  Notes	The 80-year life of Ronald Jerome Nesvig, the fourth child of ten, to Jerome B. Nesvig and Ruby (Rensland) Nesvig, began and ended in rural Buxton. Ron was born June 28, 1941, and was a 1959 graduate from Climax Public High School, Climax, MN where he played high school sports. He later joined the army and was stationed in Munich, Germany. Ron’s professions followed his variety of interests, including gold miner, truck driver, bar/resort owner, and finally owning his own trucking company. Ron retired in rural Buxton to live near his mother and brothers. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping, woodworking, and staying on top of current events. He was a voracious reader and was known for his strong opinions – which he shared openly and often with others in his deep, gravelly voice. While he really knew how to get someone’s goat, Ron was very kind and gentle. He held a tremendous soft spot for his family and his pets. Those who knew him best know that he went overboard with just about anything and everything. Characterized as a bit stubborn, he was proud of his Norwegian heritage. Many of Ron’s happiest times were spent with his three stepchildren Carla, John, and Carrie. He took great pride in making sure they did well in school when they were young, especially in reading and math, as those subjects he professed to have struggled with as a child. Ron passed away quietly on September 19, 2021, with his brother Ken and sister-in-law Kate by his side. Ron is survived by his stepdaughter, Carrie (Greg) Sparks and his two granddaughters, Lauren and Stephanie of Madison, WI, and seven siblings: Winnifred Olson, Deer River, MN; Leslie Nesvig, Lamoure, ND; Steven Nesvig, Buxton, ND; Michael Nesvig, Fargo, ND; Kendall Nesvig, Buxton, ND; Kimberly Nesvig, Park Rapids, MN; and Sharon Nesvig, Tallahassee, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his long-time and much-loved canine companion, Buddy. He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter Carla, stepson John, brothers Samson Nesvig and Jeffrey Nesvig, his parents, Jerome and Ruby Nesvig, and his cherished yellow lab, Jake. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
