- In the 1916 Canada Census of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta, he is the 22 year-old Olof Holm, grandson of Halver Peterson and his wife Annie, both 73 years old, of Alberta, District 43, Sub-district 13, Victoria enumeration district. The household includes a maid as well as a school teacher who is lodging. Olof is an American citizen who came to Canada in 1912.
He registered for the draft as Olaf Holm of Colman Twp. He was a self-employed farmer in “Bawlf”, Alberta, Canada, at the time time of his registration. He claimed his grandfather and grandmother as dependent upon him for their only support. He was tall and stout with blue eyes and light hair.
