Survived his half-brother, Gordon Lee, who died in early 2009. At that time, he lived in Salem, Oregon.
Vern was born in Brisbane, North Dakota to William and Nancy Anderson. He was the youngest of eleven children. Vern was married to Joan Anderson and they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in December. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and had a playful spirit.
Vern served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington during the Korean War. He loved fishing and enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the San Francisco 49er's.
He is survived by his sons Terry Anderson & Joe Anderson, daughter Kim Van Zandt (Karl), son Greg Anderson (Jeana), daughter Kelly Davison (Shawn), brother Donald Anderson, sisters Joyce and Esther, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
