He was tall and of medium build with blue eyes and dark brown hair. He was an auto mechanic for an automobile company in the 1930 census. He had come to the U.S. in 1900. In the 1931 Minneapolis city directory, the last one with an entry for him, he and his wife Josephine (who may be Gyda) live at 4409 17th Avenue S. John works for North Side Motor Company. He doesn’t seem to be living in Minnesota at the time of the 1940 census.
