- His parents were born in Germany. An Ancestry tree has his parents as Salomon Thal and Sarah Levi. A Soloman Thal, b. 25 Nov 1846, died in Nelson County on 16 January 1935.
He registered for the draft on June 5, 1917, in Nelson, North Dakota. He was a “member of a mercantile firm” and was employed by the Lakota Mercantile Co. He had a wife and one child under 12 and he was born 23 February 1890 in Lakota. He was of medium height and build with brown eyes and dark brown hair.
In the 1920 and 1930 censuses, the couple lived in Lakota, North Dakota. In 1920, Abraham was a salesman in a department store. In 1930, he was a dry goods buyer for a general store. He was not a veteran.
