  Notes	Called Roy in the 1910 census. Living with his parents at the time of the 1930 census. In the 1940 census, he and Arla lived in White Plains, Westchester County, New York. They had no children. Five years earlier, they had both lived in Virginia in St. Louis County, Minnesota. Robert is a blacksmith in tunnel construction. According to Veterans’ Memorial Hall, “Robert W. Orfald entered the Army on Feb. 23, 1943. He was a private in the continental U.S. and was separated on July 9, 1943.” Robert, with his wife, accompanied his mother to her sister’s funeral. Of Virginia at the time of his sister Ruth’s death. Robert died of cancer. He worked at Virginia Ready-Mix. He lived at 325 S 8th Street South in Virginia, Minnesota. That was also the address shown for him when he was the informant for his mother’s death certificate. His obituary was published on p. A4:3 of the March 6, 1982, edition of the Duluth News-Tribune: Robert W. Orfald, 72, of Virginia, died Thursday at the Virginia Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are pending with the Cron-Harris-Clarke Funeral Home in Virginia.
