  Notes	From an obituary in the LaCrosse Tribune: Mabel Vig Nundahl VIROQUA, Wis. - Mabel Vig Nundahl, 90, of 418 E. Hickory St., in Viroqua, died Sunday morning, May 20, 2001, at Vernon Manor Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since March 12, 2001. She was born Oct. 18, 1910, in Viroqua, to Gilbert and Josephine (Skrede) Gilbertson. In 1928, she married Marcellus Vig. They farmed in the Viroqua area until his death in 1965. On July 6, 1974, Mabel married Sylvan Nundahl. They lived at rural Viroqua until 1977, when they moved into Viroqua. She worked at several local restaurants and tobacco warehouses. She also cleaned houses and raised tobacco. She worked in raising tobacco until she was 84 years old. She enjoyed dancing and going to rummage sales. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for several years, and after she and Sylvan married, they attended Kickapoo United Lutheran Church. Mabel is survived by her husband, Sylvan; two daughters, Elsie (Tom) Mealy of San Antonio, Texas, Cynthia "Cindy" Johnson of Viroqua; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Gayheart (Ruth) Gilbertson of Viroqua; one sister, Elayne Langley of Houston, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Carol Vig of Viroqua; and other relatives and many friends. She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Betty Lou Vig; a son, Raymond Vig; two sisters, Alma Thompson and Myrtle Rude; and five brothers, one in infancy, Leo, Selmer "Sam," Albin and Clifford Gilbertson. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Thorson Funeral Home in Viroqua, with the Rev. Michael Wollman officiating. Burial will be in Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home and after 8 a.m. Wednesday.
