By 1920, Myrtle has left home too. In the 1930 census, William and Thora are living by themselves in a house they own on High Street in Nelsonville village, Amherst Twp, Portage County. They don’t have a radio. His obit said that he had been a resident of Nelsonville for the past 12 years. He had suffered a stroke six years before his death and had been in poor health ever since. He had been confined to his bed for 13 months.
