Came to the U.S. in around 1881 according to Nina. May have travelled with his sister Grete. An Anton Ness, age 45, born in Norway, is a woods laborer (logger) at a logging camp in Oneida County, Wisconsin, in that state’s 1905 census. It is, presumably, that Anton Ness, who was granted naturalization papers in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, on 7 Mar 1911, according to an article in The New North.
