Wisconsin Births and Christenings has him as Harry William Ellingboe, b. 6 Jul 1901 in Milwaukee, the son of Joseph G Ellingboe, born in Milwaukee, and Lucille M Franks, born in England.
Living in Milwaukee in the 1905 state census. The household relationships are confusing. Harry is the nephew of a Lewis Ellingboe, born in Wisconsin in 1876, and the son of a 37 year-old Harry whose name is illegible but appears to have been Franks and crossed out, born in Wisconsin, and a Mary, a 33 year-old born in England. Harry and Mary are married. Young Harry’s parents were born in Wisconsin and England.
There also seems to be another Harry Ellingboe in Milwaukee (#10976).
Couldn’t find him in the 1910 or 1920 censuses.
In the 1926 Milwaukee city directory, he is a clerk for Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Co. He and WInifred live at 68 32nd.
Still living in Milwaukee in the 1930 census. He and his parents were born in Wisconsin. His household includes his wife Winifred, daughter Gene, son John, and father-in-law Otto Schicker. Harry is some sort of salesman, perhaps insurance.
In the 1939 Milwaukee city directory, as Harry Ellingboe, he and Winifred live at 231 North 36th.
In the 1940 census, Harry and his family live at 237 North 36th Street in a rented residence. His occupation was research work for the government. Winifred works as a cleaner at a furniture store. Both of them are high school graduates.
In the 1947 city directory, he and Winifred live at 3009 W Clybourn. Harry is an expediter.
In the 1950 census, Harry and Winifred and John live in Milwaukee. Harry is a plumbing supplies salesman. John is a truck driver for a sausage company. | ELLINGBOE, Harry William (I10780)
