In the 1950 census, she was the head of household and was living with Virginia, 22, James A, 14, and Nancy J, 12, in Barron, Wisconsin. She is shown as a widow. Her 22 year-old daughter Virginia, shown as divorced, worked as a waitress and, apparently, was the family’s only source of income.

In the 1900 census, as Albert Nesja, he and his wife live with their son Theodore in Preston Twp, Fillmore County.

An article that appeared in several Wisconsin newspapers, datelined Eau Claire: A horse driven by Albert Olson Nesja, a farmer, aged 69, took fright on a business street this morning, the horse kicking the dash board to pieces. Just as Nesja fell toward the horse’s hoof struck him on the head and killed him instantly.
