| 20430 | Skjelhaugen is a subfarm of Kvåle. His place of birth on his marriage record seems to be Kållebråten i Uddvalden ni Kvale. That, and his name, suggests he was born in Sweden. In the 1880 U.S. census, he is A. Pederson, wife Randi, of Kerkhoven Twp, Swift County. The rest of the children shown for that family are quite a bit younger than Berith although there is a daughter Kersti, age 10 (so born in 1869 or 1870) born in Norway. That implies that A. Pederson and Randi were together in Norway before coming to the U.S. in about 1870. Their 10-year-old son, Gustav, was born in Minnesota.
