He registered for the draft on June 5, 1917, in Maplewood as Conrad Toso of Erhard, Minnesota, where is a self-employed farmer. He was born in Maplewood on August 15, 1895. He has a wife and one child. He is described as tall and of medium build with blue eyes and light brown hair.

In the rural part of the 1937/38 Fergus Falls city directory, he is probably the Conrad Toso who owns a tad less than 40 acres in section 30 of Maplewood Twp.

The December 27, 1955, edition of the FFDJ noted: “Guests in the Conrad Toso home over the Christmas holidays were their children and their families. Those from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Toso of Spokane, Washington, Mrs. Arthur Johnson, Tacoma, Washington, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Toso, Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Kantrud, Detroit Lakes, and Lt. and Mrs. Norman Toso, Guadalupe, Lockhart, Texas, and their families.”
