Melva Mae Anderson, Duluth and Ocala, Fla., died June 7, 2009 in Ocala, Fla.

She was born in Jeffers, Minn., to Scott and Alma Potter.

She married Roland E. "Bud" Anderson. Melva and her husband were the owner operators of Anderson's Shoprite, Inc, in Morgan Park from 1947 to 1983. She also owned Anderson's Apparel, also in Morgan Park, in the early 1960's. She was a member of United Protestant Church and was Past Matron of Euclid Chapter 56, OES.

Melva was preceded in death by her husband, Roland E. "Bud" Anderson; parents; a brother and sister Lois Hedlund.

She is survived by her sons, Charles E. (Beverly) Rochester, Minn., and Scott W. (Kellie), Ocala, Fla.; grandchildren, Chris (Pattie), Kevin J. and Rachel Tomberlin; twin great-granddaughters, Millie and Maddie; great-grandson, Brady K.;and sister, Thelma Kortkamp, Duluth and Ocala, Fla.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service Saturday in United Protestant Church, 88th Ave. West and Arbor St., Morgan Park. Burial at Oneota Cemetery. Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the United Protestant Church Building Fund, in care of the family, are preferred.

Morgan Park is a neighborhood in Duluth.

Richardson, Marie K. age 89, of Richfield, died March 9, 2007. Preceded in death by husband, Sidney. Survived by son, Martin (Claudia) Richardson; daughters, Ann (Floyd Roman) Miller and Flavia (Mike) Speaker; grandchildren, Marty (Brenda) Miller, Julie (Sean) Casey, Jack Miller, Christopher (Tricia) Richardson, Steven Richardson, Curt Richardson, Patrick (Stephanie) O'Brien, Cathy O'Brien, and Kelly (Mark) Schmidt; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Sr. Flavia Augustine, Sacred Heart Order; brother, Eugene (DeLoris) Augustine; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Mass Tuesday 1 pm at Assumption Catholic Church, 305 E. 77th St., Richfield. Private interment Ft. Snelling. Visitation 5-7 pm with 6:30 pm parish prayers Monday at Morris Nilsen Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave. So., Richfield, and one-hour prior to Mass at Church. Memorials may be directed to Assumption Church.

She came to the U.S. in 1881 according to the 1920 census.

In the 1930 census, Florence was caring for Eunice’s four orphaned children in Minneapolis.

Her daughter Laura was the informant for her death certificate. She lived at the same address as her mother, 908 West 26th Street.

Florence was the widow of Ira G Butler. She died at home of a heart attack.

Her obit in the Tribune’s January 15th edition has her survivors as “a son and daughter, Henry Butler and Mrs. Leslie Owens, both of Glendale, California.” Also surviving her were siblings Bernard, George, Mrs. Susie Pulfore, Mrs. Libby Warren, Mrs. Alice Palmer, Mrs. Merle Hurlbert, and Mrs. Ethel Jungck.
