In the 1926 Milwaukee city directory, she is Claire V Ellingboe, a stenographer for the Wisconsin Telephone Co. She lives with her uncle and Andrew at 414 25th.

Single and living with her father’s brother Walter in Milwaukee in the 1930 census. She is a stenographer at a telephone company.

She is probably not the Clara who married Morris O Hagen. That couple was in Grafton in Walsh County, North Dakota, in the 1930 census. Morris was born in Norway in about 1888. Clara’s father is shown as born in Germany. They had a daughter Vivian born ca 1923 in North Dakota. That Morris died at the end of 1930. In the 1940 census, Clara, now a widow, and Vivian still live in Grafton.
Vivian married Paul Sell in Grand Forks in February of 1947. He was three years older than her. She married again in Washington in 1960 and indicated that her mother’s maiden name was Clara Miller.

Dorothy Morris, 87, passed away Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010 at Sunrise Rehab and Care Center in Nebo. She was born June 14, 1923 in Hennepin, County, Minn. to the late Harry Duffy and Ida Janish Duffy. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marion. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Roy David Morris; and a son, Brian Svac; and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Morris is survived by two sons, David Morris, wife Susan, of Marion, Roy David Morris, Jr., of Miami, Fla.; three daughters, Mary Morris of Marion, Sherry Morris of Statesville and Linda Fox of Indiana; two brothers, Leonard Duffy, wife Sharron, of Montana, George Duffy of Minneapolis, Minn.; five sisters, Anna McGraw, husband Gene, June Twate, husband Dave, Gladys Lein, Ida Mae Cresel, and Doris Duffy, all of Minneapolis, Minn.; and two granddaughters, Samantha and Emily Morris. The graveside service will be held at noon today Aug. 3, 2010 at Barnes Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside service at Kirksey Funeral Home, Marion. Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the Morris family. A special thank you to the staff of Sunrise Rehab and Care Center.
