A Mae M Howard, age 27, died in Los Angeles on 5 Dec 1921.
According to the Find A Grave entry for her, as created by Andrew Howard:
Mae was shot and killed by her brother-in-law, Oscar Thompson. Thompson killed his wife, Bertha (Mae's sister) in the attack. Mae was attempting to summon the police when she was murdered.

She was married to Eivind Jøgersson Austreim in Norway before she married Even Boe. In the 1900 census, Marith had had 9 children, 8 still living. Even had come to the U.S. in 1870 and Marith in 1868.
In the 1880 census, Even and Marit lived in Wang Twp in Renville County. The household included five children who would have been Marit’s from her first husband: George, 22, Even, 20, Bertha, 18, Ole, 15, and Marit, 11. The two oldest were born in Norway.

Recitation of the rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 1996, in Holy Name Catholic Church in Coquille for Helen Virginia Dieu, who died Dec. 12 at age 81. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, in the church.
Mrs. Dieu was born Aug. 12, 1915, in Tacoma. Her maiden name was Anderson. She married George in 1931; he died in 1974. The couple owned Dieu's Grocery in Coquille for 35 years. She lived in Portland for the past eight years.
Survivors include her sons, Frank of Corvallis, George Jr. of Coquille and Ron of Portland; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and close companions, Bob Shepherd and Ellen Greer, both of Portland.
