Christine E. "Chris" ENGLUND Age 100, died peacefully on Nov 20. A farmer's daughter, born January 6, 1905 in Saskatchewan to Swedish immigrants Olaf and Ida Rosen. At 19 she ventured to Seattle, seeking work. Here she met and fell in love with Ed Englund, also a Swedish immigrant, whom she married in 1926. Both became US citizens. They raised their family in WA, last settling at Federal Way in 1941. Christine is survived by three sons; Lars (Polly), Eric (Barbara) and Ed, Jr. (Myrna) Englund; three Granddaughters; Sheri (Ray) Prokorym, Teri Acklus and Margie Englund; eight Grandsons; Brian (Kathy), Gary (Karen), Ron (Debby), Mike, Lennie (Sandra), Eric (Kendra), Kurt and Steve (Kris) Englund; 28 Greatgrandchildren; four Great-Great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Hazel Rosen, brother-in-law Lloyd Newell, and many nieces and nephews. Other special survivors: Charlotte Englund, Pam Gendron, Leslie Englund, Bill Tufts, Bill Acklus, Tom Warnock and scores of loving friends. She is predeceased by her husband Ed (Grandpa), all her siblings (7 brothers, 2 sisters) and a former daughter-in-law, Joanna Englund. She was loved and adored by all who knew her and will be fondly remembered for her kindness, delightful sense of humor, superb cooking and, most of all, her extraordinary love and care for her family and friends. Grandma will be sorely missed by us all. A Memorial Service will be held Nov 26, 1:00 p.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church (Federal Way).

In her marriage record in the Vang church book, she is Margrethe Ostensdatter Söndre Böe. Her father was Osten Tostensen.

She was called Margrethe Olsdatter Jevne-ejet in Berith 1849’s birth record. Berith 1849’s birth record seems to indicate 2nd leirmaal for both father and mother.

Knut’s mother may be the same person as #23596 and/or #27209. However, she may also be the daughter of Ola Nilsson Øydegarden.

In the 1865 census, she is probably the Anne Olsdatter, b. 1822, “dagligt Arbeide” (daily worker), on the Østrem farm in Vang. Living with her, and indicated as her son, is Knuth Andersen, b. 1847.
