17933 Rae H. Pace age 81, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, in her home surrounded by her family.

Rae was born March 2, 1929, to the late Harvey and Erma (Osborne) Fish in Viroqua. She married William Pace May 26, 1951, in a double wedding. Rae was a teacher for 34 years, teaching at the Elk Run (Vernon County) one-room school for two years, the Hickory Grove (Rock County) one-room school for three years and Clinton Elementary School for 29 years. Rae was a longtime member of the Clinton United Methodist Church and volunteered for “Meals on Wheels” and “Top of the Morning”. She taught Sunday school, Church Youth Leaders and was on the 4-H Advisory Board. She was faithful to her God given gifts of helping anyone in need and loved to cook and entertain family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, William Pace; four children, Cheryl (John) Lund of McHenry, Ill., Arlana (Peter) Richardson of Clinton, Wis., Dennis (Christy) Pace of Beloit, Wis. and Jennifer (Norman) Otto of Altus, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Jonni (Dan) Fogerty of Bloomington, Ind., Deanna (Phil) Pickering of Janesville, Wis., Erika (Korey) Coffer of Davis Junction, Ill., Andrew Lund of McHenry, Ill., Isaac (Abby) Richardson of Charlotte, N.C., Jacob Richardson of Clinton, Wis. and Jennell Richardson of Clinton, Wis., two great-grandchildren, Melody Coffer of Davis Junction, Ill. and Coletrane Coffer of Davis Junction, Ill.; a sister, Agnes Morkrid of Viroqua; a brother, Dale Fish of La Farge; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Maxine Reimer of Capron, Ill., and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Norman and Clinton; and three sisters, Merle, Fern and Dorothy.

The family would like to thank Mercy Hospice for their wonderful care and support the last six months of her life.

Rae’s funeral service was on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at The River of Life United Methodist Church, 402 Church St., Clinton with the Rev. David Carlson officiating. Friends were received on Friday evening, July 16, 2010, at the Brian G. Mark Funeral Home in Clinton, and on Saturday at church before the time of services. Following the service, the cortege processed to Clinton Cemetery for interment.

17935 Ragna is buried on private land in Hickory Twp, Pennington County, Minnesota. The exact location is in a farm field in a small copse about 1200 feet west of 380th Avenue SE and about 4000 feet south of 120th Street SE. Ragna’s grave is marked by a relatively modern steel marker. See photos.

Ragna died from “stomach complications” at the age of 12 years, 10 months and 20 days. The death certificate did not say where she would be buried. Her brother’s death certificate said “Trail, Minnesota.”
