Pearl Beatrice Lockrem was born on October 13, 1920 to Andrew and Nettie (Mickelson) Odegaard near Rake. She was baptized at Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Bricelyn and confirmed at the Bricelyn Lutheran Church. She graduated from Bricelyn High School.

Pearl loved playing cards, reading, bowling, and shopping. She was always up for a game of cards or dominoes when her grandchildren stopped in. And they always knew a good lunch would follow. Pearl was dedicated to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Always ready to help out whenever she could.
