Marjorie R. Maney, 88, of Rockford, passed away Fri., January 2, 2015 at home. Born August 21, 1926, in La Crosse, WI, to Olaf and Charlotte Smevog. She married James D. Maney on July 10, 1948. He predeceased her on Nov. 13, 2012. Marge received her B.A. degree from Rockford College in June 1948. She was a 3rd grade teacher in the Harlem School district for 30 years. She was involved in Altar Guild, TWELCA, Cornucopia Food Pantry, Trinity House and Trinity Day Care. she belong to Tinker Cottage, Midway Village Museum, Rockford Historical Society and was a 35 year member of Sons of Norway.
Survivors include daughter, Janet Maney; son, David (Marchia) Maney; two grandsons; great-granddaughter, Alexandra; sister, Ruth (Robert) Frise; brothers-in-law, John P. Maney and Guilford Hanesworth; sister-inlaw, Eleanore Riley. Predeceased by sister, Jan Hanesworth. | SMEVOG, Marjorie R (I28034)

TAYLOR--Albert John passed away on Friday, June 14, 2002 in Stettler, Alberta at the age of 70 years. Albert (Al) is survived by nine sons and one daughter; Wes of Red Deer, AB; David of Red Deer, AB; Dale of Cranbrook, B.C.; Randy; Duane of Cranbrook, B.C.; Ernie of Medicine Hat, AB; Bob of Pincher Creek, AB; Doug of Pincher Creek, AB; Rodney of Saskatoon, SK; Sherri of Medicine Hat, AB,his ex-wife Beverly, Medicine Hat, AB, brother Earl (Gwen) Taylor of Regina; sister Florence Taylor of Calgary, AB; twenty-three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In the 1895 Minnesota census, Robert and Mary Ross and family lived in Wabasha. Robert, 37, is an engineer. His birth location is shown as N.B. which probably means New Brunswick, Canada. He had been in Minnesota for 20 years. Mary, 29, is a dressmaker. The children are Caroline A, 9, Jessie, 6, Corrina, 3, and Hellen D, 2. Caroline was born in North Dakota, the other children in Minnesota.
In the 1900 census, there was a Robert Ross, 39 and married, who was a prisoner living with the sheriff in Wabasha next door to the Dunns.

One of his baptismal sponsors was Marit Helgesdatter Ellingbö (2911).
The Vang parish emigration record shows him leaving for “St. Paul” in April of 1890. He departed Liverpool on 30 Apr 1890, bound for New York.
The St. Paul city directory for 1889-91 records him boarding at 288 Williams. His occupation is “turner.”
He (as Thorsten Quale) and Randi and family lived in Northfield in the 1900 census. Thorsten was a cabinet maker. He came to the U.S. in 1890, his wife in 1889. Randi has had 5 children, 4 still living. The 1899 Northfield city directory shows that he is Thorstein Kvalle, a cabinet maker for the firm of Ferguson & Richardson, and that his address is WATER 3 S OF 8 ST.
In 1903, he is Thorstein L. Kvalle, still in Northfield, living at 812 E. Water. His occupation is carpenter.
In the 1905 state census, he and his family still live in Northfield.
In a 1911 land ownership map of Hickory Twp, Red Lake County, T T Kvale owns a 160 acre parcel, the southeast quarter of Section 17.
He is listed in “The Valdris Book”, a history of the Valdris Samband published in 1920 (available on Google Books), as “Thorstein T Kvale” of Rudell, Minnesota. He was a member of the Samband between 1902 and 1916.
The family still lived in Rudell, Minnesota, at the time of Harald’s death in 1918.
He and his family lived in Hickory Twp, Pennington County, Minnesota, in the 1920 census. Hannah, Theresa, Ragna, Rudolph, Olaf, and Agnes were still at home.
He and his wife lived in Glenwood, Oregon, at the time of their daughter Theresa’s death in January of 1936.
The California death record shows his birth date as 17 Jan 1866.
His obit in the Los Angeles Times on 7 Jun 1946 referred to him as a retired contractor and builder who resided at 1202 Wexham Way. His surviving daughters were Mrs. Herb Krauch, Mrs. Marie Leffingwell, Mrs. Val Tubor, Mrs. Roy Foster, and Mrs. Bertha Sybilrud. | KVÅLE, Thorsten (I5752)
