In the 1930 census, living at 4427 James Ave. N., in a rented house for which they paid $25 per month. The household has a radio. The family consisted of John E., 47, a painter in the interior decorating industry, his wife Myrtle W., 22, their daughter Joyce C., 5, and son Wayne D., 1. John E. was 24 when he first married; Myrtle was 19 when she first married. John was not a veteran.
