Marjorie L. Pas, 86, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake following a brief illness.

Marjorie was born May 21, 1918, in Whiting, Iowa to Harold H. and Helen (Olson) Hall.

She married Wesley G. Pas on Dec. 15, 1939 in Sioux City. He preceded her in death in November of 1996 in Sioux City.

Marjorie lived in Sioux City most of her life. Before her marriage, she worked for Mayor George Young as a domestic and also worked at Young's Dairy. Marjorie was a professional seamstress for J.C. Penney's home decorating department making custom draperies and accessories. She also sewed for independent interior designers.

She was a long-time member of Morningside Lutheran Church and participated in Women's Circle and Quilting Circle. Marjorie loved working in her flowerbed, camping, celebrating holidays to the fullest and spending time with her cherished family.

Survivors include two sons, John W. Pas (Karen) of Spirit Lake and Rick E. Pas (Cheryl) of Lakewood, Colo.; two daughters, Betty Parrish (Fran) of Milford, Iowa, and Lynn Porter of Rapid City, S.D.; a sister, Carol Hoppock (Del) of Rockford, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Amy DuPuis (Brad), Beth Flythe (Jeff), Dr. Randy Pas (Amy), Shannon Anderson (Paul), Stephany Hammil (Brian), Teri Pieters (Chris), Jay Porter (Amanda), John Porter and Chelsey Pas; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Helen Kay Pas; a brother, Harold "Bud" Hall; and a sister, Jana Guettner.
