Moved to Washington in January of 2001. Carl moved into the Warm Beach Nursing Home in March of 2001.

In July of 2011 she went into a nursing home because of a compressed fracture of the vertebrae.

Murriel Lorraine Johnson was born on July 23, 1922, in Amery, Wisconsin, to Martin and Gertrude Ausen. She graduated from Amery High School in 1940. After graduation, Lorraine worked in the dietary department of Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. While waiting at the Minneapolis bus depot, Lorraine got to know her future husband, Carl Johnson, who was also waiting for the same bus to return to his hometown of Amery. The two were married June 19, 1944, before Carl was shipped overseas during WW II.

For a short time they lived in the San Francisco area close to the Navy base so they could be near each other when Carl’s ship was in dock. Upon returning to Minneapolis to live, they had two daughters, Peggy and Nancy. When the girls were in grade school, Lorraine went back to work pursuing a retail career at Powers Department Store in St Paul where she managed different departments until retirement.

For twelve years, Lorraine and Carl enjoyed entertaining a host of guests in their beautiful retirement home on Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. In 2000, they moved to the Warm Beach Senior Community to be near their daughter, Nancy, and her family. Carl entered nursing care shortly after arriving in Washington and died five years later from Parkinson’s disease.

Lorraine has greatly enjoyed her grandchildren, Thad Johan Nelson and wife, Abby, of Stanwood; and Cherith Joy Lee and husband, Chad, of Lake Stevens and her great grandchildren (Preston, Eli, Julie and Clara.) Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, and oldest daughter, Peggy Lamb.

Mr. Harry James Dunn age 87 of Adrian MI. formerly of Paris TN. passed away Wednesday October 21,2009. Burial will be at Point Pleasant Cemetery.

Harry is survived by his children Richard (Janis) Dunn, Cedar Park, TX, Roger (Judy) Dunn, Aurora, MO, and Timothy (Jennifer) Dunn, Adrian, MI.

Harry James Dunn, 87, of Adrian, Mich., died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, in Adrian. He formerly lived on Cates Road in Paris.

Born Dec. 16, 1921, in Chisholm, Minn., he was a son of James Alexander Dunn and Jesse Emma Lowell Dunn, now both deceased. His wife, Ava Nell Swor Dunn, died Aug. 30, 2006. They were married on Dec. 16, 1945.

During World War II, Harry worked in a factory, building helicopters. He was introduced to his wife inside an airplane wing, where she worked as a “riveter.” They raised their family in Michigan and later retired to Paris in the mid-1980s, where they raised cows.

Harry was a longtime member of East Wood Church of Christ in Paris before returning to Michigan after the loss of his wife in 2006. He then became a member of Adrian Church of Christ, where he was active in Bible correspondence course work.

Harry was a skilled carpenter and did many projects for his church over the years. He also helped build the Michigan Christian Youth Camp in Attica, Mich., and the Church of Christ building in Farmington Hills, Mich. Mr. Dunn collapsed unexpectedly during his Wednesday evening Bible study at the church in Adrian. He went home to be with his Lord while studying His Word.

He leaves three sons: Richard (Janis) Dunn of Cedar Park, Texas; Roger (Judy) Dunn of Aurora, Mo.; and Timothy (Jennifer) Dunn of Adrian; two sisters: Virginia Ploekelman of Rockford, Ill., and Nancy Plunket of Hudson, Wis.; one brother: James Dunn of Detroit; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He also was preceded in death by a sister: Vivian Severson; a brother: Calvin Dunn; and a half brother: Arch Dunn.

A grandson, Geoffrey Dunn of Westside Church of Christ in Round Rock, Texas, will officiate his funeral. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery.

Chosen as pallbearers are Richard, Roger, Timothy, Geoffrey, Joshua and Michael Dunn and Ryan Farris.

Mr. Kenneth E. "Buddy" Odegard, 72, died Friday, May 26, 2006. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, June 29, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby, N.D. Interment took place at Sandhills State Veteran's Cemetery in Spring Lake on Monday, June 19, 2006. Mr. Odegard, a native of Crosby, N.D., was active in athletics at Divide County High School where he lettered in football, basketball and baseball. He served in the United States Marine Corps in Korea. Before moving to Greenville, he resided in California, Arizona, Fayetteville, N.C., North Dakota and Nevada. He and his brother, Dick, were longtime roommates and business partners in magazine sales. Mr. Odegard was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth A. Odegard, and a brother, Richard B. Odegard. Surviving are his daughter, Lynnell Odegard of Greenville; son, Ken Odegard II of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Amanda and Ken III, both of Fayetteville; mother, Norma R. Odegard of Crosby, N.D.; brother, Dirk Odegard and wife, Kim, of Fairfield, Calif.; and sisters, Avis Breding of Bismarck, N.D., Donna Lund and husband, John, of Silver City, N.M., Sharyn Edwards and husband, Jim, of Issaquah, Wash., Pam Simmons and husband, Mike, of Ecru, Miss., and Paula Lindsey and husband, Neil, of Crosby, N.D. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 2025 E Street NW, Washington D.C. 20006.

Mr. Truax was a game manager for the Department of Natural Resources for 30 years, serving as a Horicon Marsh manager from 1948 to 1952. He was a World War II Air Force veteran and was a member of the Horicon-Mayville Masonic Lodge No. 40. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne; one son, Thomas of Oshkosh; one daughter, Tanya (Kenneth) Shawcroft of Seattle; two grandchildren, Scott and Kari June Shawcroft of Seattle; and one sister, Germaine Davies of Wyeville. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Dec. 4 in Fiss and Bills Funeral Home, Oshkosh. Burial will be in the Wyeville Cemetery.

Mrs. Alton Hougen, 58, of Rt. 2, Reedsville, died Wednesday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. The Rev. Robert Onkka will officiate and burial will be in Our Saviours Cemetery, Valders.

Mrs. Hougen, nee Mae Schurr, was born Nov. 23, 1916, in the Town of Manitowoc, dauther of the late David Schurr and Mrs. Emma Schurr. She was married to Alton Hougen Sept. 30, 1944, at Manitowoc.
Survivors include her husband, two sons, David and Dennis, her mother, a brother Henry, a sister, Mrs. Kermit Johnson of Rt. 1, Valders, and two grandchildren. A sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Christian Hougen, 56, nee Etta Torrison, died last night at the Holy Family hospital following a stroke she suffered at the farm home in Cato a week ago.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. from the home and at two o'clock at Our Saviors Lutheran church in Valders.

Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Hougen was born in Rockland in 1887 and in 1910 was married to Mr. Hougen. They located on the farm in Cato.
Survivors are the widower, two daughters, Mrs. Theodore Bieberitz of Valders and Verna Mae, on the home farm; son, Alton, on the farm; two brothers, Bennett of Rockland and Orrin of Valders; four sisters, Mrs. Alfred Christianson and Mrs. Leonard Larson of Cato, Mrs. Joel Johnson of Liberty, Mrs. Leonard Johnston of Valders; also two grandchildren.

Mrs. Dunn passed away Wednesday at Plumley Rehab center in Paris. Her service will be Saturday l0:30 A.M. McEvoy Chapel with burial to follow in Point Pleasant Cemetery, visitation will be Friday 4:00 until 8:00 and after 9:00 Saturday until service time. She is survived by her husband Harry Dunn, three sons Richard (Janice) Dunn, Cedar Park, TX, Roger (Judy) Dunn, Aurora, MO and Timothy (Jennifer) Dunn, Adrian, MI, seven grandchildren, a sister Juanita Hadley, Lynnwood, CA, preceded by her parents Guy and Ola May Byrd Swor, two sisters Barbara Spaulding and Maria Elizabeth Swor at age 3. Mrs. Dunn was a member of the East Wood Street Church of Christ. She worked during WWII in airplane factories in Detroit, retired as retail sales person in Detroit. Graduate of Buchanan High School.
