A memorial service for Nora C. Ives will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Madonna Towers Chapel in Rochester, with the Rev. Emmett Tighe officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Ives, 79, of Madonna Towers, died Thursday (Dec. 27, 2001) at her home.
Nora C. Jetty was born March 27, 1922, in rural St. Michael, N.D. She grew up in North Dakota and graduated from high school in Marty, S.D. In 1944, she joined the Navy WAVES and was sent to the Washington, D.C., Bureau of Ships. She was honorably discharged in 1946 and then attended Fargo Business College. On Sept. 25, 1947, she married Burnett A. Ives in Minneapolis. In 1948, the couple moved to Rochester. Mr. Ives was a custodial engineer for the Rochester school district. He died Sept. 7, 1976. Mrs. Ives worked for 22 years as a secretary for the FAA at the Rochester airport, retiring in 1982. After her retirement, she did volunteer work for Saint Marys Hospital. She was a former member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Rochester and a current member of Madonna Towers Chapel. Mrs. Ives was active in the Madonna Towers Activity Groups and a member of the Rochester Parkinson Support Group. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and singing.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Jean (Dallas) Smith and Shirley Ann (Dennis) Greising, both of Rochester, and Pamela Gail (Dennis) Delk of Pueblo West, Colo.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five sisters, Sarah (Dan) Hoven of Rochester, Sister Inez Jetty of Marty, S.D., Vivian (Robert) Borseth of Coon Rapids, Minn., Marianne (Lyle) McCullough of Eagan, Minn., and Julie (Bill) King of St. Michael; and a brother, Alfred "Buddy" Jetty of Chamberlain, S.D. Funeral services for Sylvia (Sash) Taft-Hendrickson, 70, of St. Cloud and formerly of Onamia, are scheduled today (Thursday, Feb. 5) at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with the Rev. Jon Olson officiating.
Burial will be in the Foster Cemetery.
Sylvia died peacefully at her home on Jan. 30, 2004.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Hendrickson; six daughters, Debbie Gallup of Garrison, Samantha Boldt of Ramsey, Karen Hendrickson of Conway, Ark., Sherry Matthews of Alaska, Laura Carmichael of Alaska, and Accy Hendrickson of Alaska; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loraine Oberfield of Onamia, and Irene Stebbins of Freeport, Ill.; brother, Levy Taft of Shelby, Mont.;

Marjorie E Anderson, 90, formerly of Duluth passed away peacefully in Sun City, Ariz., on Feb. 7, 2009 surrounded by family.
Marj was a graduate of Central High School and St. Scholastica. She was a dedicated Duluth teacher who took great pride in helping her special education students learn the skills needed to live independently. She and husband John retired to Sun City in 1979 where they enjoyed the escape from winter and hosting the many visitors that came their way. We are thankful for every moment she was with us and we are joyful she is enjoying Gods promise of eternal life.
Preceded in death by husband, John J.
Survived by sons, Thomas, Michael (Kathy); and daughter, Leslie; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and friends.
