14541 Lois Jean Mickelson, age 93, of Gays Mills, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Soldiers Grove Health Services. She was born on November 24, 1932, in Viroqua to Selbert and Sarah "Olive" (Sheffield) Aspenson. Lois grew up on her family farm near Mt. Sterling. She married Sherman Mickelson on Feb. 5, 1955. Shortly after they were married, they moved to Gays Mills and raised a family. Lois worked at the Red Apple Inn, was a co-owner of the Westby Locker Plant for almost 20 years and went into business with her son and daughter-in-law at Mickelson Market. She was a longtime member of Luther Memorial Church in Gays Mills. She enjoyed quilting, making lefse, and helping serve funeral meals at the church. She loved her family.

Survivors include her children, Debra Mickelson, Kristie (Mark) Brownie, Steve (Dori) Mickelson, and Scott Mickelson; her grandchildren, Hillary, Eric, Rachel, Megan, Kyle, Tyler, Cody, Melinda, and Taylor; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; sisters-in-law, Ingeborg Larson, Rebecca Grangaard, Roseanne Aspenson, and Rae Dawn Aspenson; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sherman Mickelson; and her siblings, Orland (Rosemary) Aspenson, Ronald Aspenson, Joyce (Art) Helgerson, and Eldon Aspenson; her granddaughter, Amber Kay Mickelson; and her great-granddaughter, Frances "Frankie" June Allen.

14543 LOIS L. NYMAN, age 80 of Grand Rapids, MN, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in Grand Rapids. Lois was born in Montevideo, MN to Elmer and Agnes Lien in 1930. She was the oldest of three children, Margaret Ann and James Allen followed. Lois attended grade and high school in Maynard, MN, graduating in 1948. She attended St. Olaf College for a year before entering nurses training at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. After completing her training, Lois became a Registered Nurse in 1952. She continued to work at Fairview for 3 years before traveling to California to work at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles for 3 years. After her return to Minnesota, Lois was united in marriage to Robert Nyman in 1959. To their family was born 4 sons, Eric, Leif, Sten and Karl. In 1972, the family moved to Grand Rapids, where Bob became a realtor and also owned a print shop. After a time, Lois went to work at the Grand Rapids Hospital as a R.N. She worked there for 20 years, retiring in 1991. Lois also raised her brothers children, Sandra and David, from the time they were 7 and 10 years old. Lois was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. Preceding her in death were her parents, her sister and brother and sister-in-law. Survived by Four Sons- Eric Nyman of Hutchinson, MN, Leif Nyman and Sten Nyman, both of Grand Rapid, MN, and Karl Nyman of Coon Rapids, MN; Special Niece- Sandra (Tony) Filipiak of Grand Rapids, MN; Special Nephew- David Lien of Colorado Springs, CO; Grandchildren Sean and Faith A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Saturday, November 6th from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. 14544 Lois Mae (Severtson) Morris, of Sioux Falls, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Lennox Good Samaritan Center in Lennox, SD.

She was born May 10, 1927 in Sioux Falls to Peter O. & Nelia (Iverson) Severtson.

In the spring of 1939, her family moved to the family farm near Hills, MN which was homesteaded by her grandfather, Ole Severtson. She attended a one room rural school house for two years before attending the high school in Hills for the next two years. In 1945, she graduated from Washington Senior High School in Sioux Falls. She then worked as a stenographer at Sioux Falls Paint & Glass Company.

Lois met her future husband, Lloyd Kenneth Morris, through mutual friends at the Arkota Ballroom. Lois married Lloyd, a South Dakota Air Guard member, on June 8, 1952 at her parents' farm near Hills, MN. The couple raised their family and lived in their Sioux Falls home on West 9th Street for the next 50 years. Lloyd & Lois were members of First Lutheran Church where Lois was a member of a circle and the women's group. Lois was also a scout leader when her children were active members.

After Lloyd retired in 1977, the couple enjoyed spending the winter months as "snowbirds" in Florida, Texas, and Arizona.

Lois is survived by her brother, Virgil (Alice) Severtson, Pipestone, MN; two sons: Larry (Linda) Morris, Sioux Falls, Myron Morris, Sioux Falls; one daughter: Renae (Jon) Koser, Saint Louis Park MN; three grandchildren: Mike (Kelly), Katie, and Emily Morris, Sioux Falls; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, as well as her husband's five siblings and their spouses. In lieu of flower, memorials are preferred to Alzheimer's Association or the donor's favorite charity.

14545 Lois Rose Hofer was born October 17, 1939 in Frazee, Mn, daughter of William and Caroline (Fisher) Brekke.  She attended country school.  She passed away October 2, 2021 at Sanford in Fargo, ND.

On September 29, 1959 she was united in marriage to Michael Hofer at the Sacred Heart Catholic Heart.  To this union eight children were born.  They made their home in Frazee, Mn.  She worked at the Turkey Plant in Frazee, Jay’s Diner, Lunch Wagon, The 59er, Spruce Grove, and Grovers.  She also helped out on the farm.

She was active in the Christian Mothers at Sacred Heart Church in Frazee.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, hunting, fishing, bingo, volunteering for Neighbor to Neighbor and Frazee Care Center, and spending time with family.

Lois survived by her husband of 62 years, Mike Hofer; children: Teresa (Mike) Wallace of Lastrup, Mn, Bruce (Sandy) Hofer of Frazee, Mn, Shane Hofer of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Lynn (Scott) Rennecke of Hawley, Mn; 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; siblings: Meg Balvitsch and Gloria (Dick) Dorrow; brother-in-law, Patrick Hofer; nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents William and Caroline Brekke; children: Tim, Mike Jr., Marty and Rita; grandson: Austin; brother-in-law: Ron Balvitsch; sister-in-law: Barb Hofer.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, 11AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frazee, visitation will also be one hour prior to the service.
