In the 1920 census, he is 33 year-old Balder Flaten, a farmer in Gennessee Twp, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota. The household consists of himself, Alta, 26, Wiliam, 3 months, Charles, apparently also 3 months, and Walter, Balder’s brother.
In the 1930 census, Balder is a boilermaker for a steam railroad shop and he and his family live in Willmar in a house on Litchfield Avenue that he is renting. The family consists of Balder, 44, Alta, 36, William B, 13, Charles B, 10, Leo G, 9, Anna M, 7, Calvin C, 5, Helen M, 3, Elroy J, 1, and Raymond H, 4 months.
In the 1940 census, he was a WPA laborer living on a farm in Gennessee Twp, Kandiyohi County.

In the 1910 census he is living in Minneapolis with his sister Nellie Pedersen and her family. He is a clerk in a butcher shop.
He registered for the draft in Minneapolis on June 5, 1917. At that time he lived at 2411 11th Avenue South in Minneapolis. He was self-employed with a grocery business at 910 East 24th Street. He was married with a wife and child and claimed their dependancy as grounds for exemption from the draft. He was tall and slender with blue eyes and light hair.
In the 1930 census, he and his family live at 4101 41st Avenue South in Minneapolis. He has a grocery store.
In 1937, he was licensed to sell “lunch, groceries, soft drinks and confectionery” at 2507 East 38th Street in Minneapolis.
In the 1940 census, he and his wife and four children still lived at 4101 41st Avenue in south Minneapolis. He was a the manager of a confectionery.
He was the informant for his brother Walter’s death certificate. At that time, Nordahl lived at 4101 41st Avenue S.
His obit said that he had lived in Minneapolis for 60 years and his last residence was 4101 41st Avenue in south Minneapolis. His sister Nellie is the only one of his siblings listed in his obit as surviving him. He was a member of Minnehaha Lutheran.

In the 1920 census, he is a farm laborer on his brother Balder’s farm in Kandiyohi County.
In the 1930 census, Walter was a lodger with a family in south Minneapolis. He was a salesman in the groceries business.

In the 1940 census, he and his wife and daughter lived in a house they owned, worth $3250, at 122 Main Street in Omak. Ivan was a reporter for the Omak newspaper. He made $745 in 1939. Living with the family was Ivan’s mother-in-law, Elizabeth Reagan, age 60.

Living with his parents and siblings in Saskatchewan in the 1916 Canadian census. According to the Hande site, this Harry married Margaret Krueger. He was a railway man.
He crossed the border, from Canada to the U. S., at Noyes on 2 Oct 1928. He had been born in Belgrade, Minnesota, and was on his way to Milwaukee. He was 31 years old, 5’ 6” tall, and weighed 155 lbs.
He may be the 31 year-old Harry Ellingboe, a single lodger living in Milwaukee, in the 1930 census. That Harry is a factory worker.
In the 1939 Milwaukee city directory, as Harry C Ellingboe, he and Margaret F live at 3048 North 26th. Harry is identified as a steelworker.
In the 1940 census, he and Margaret F live in Milwaukee at 3048 North 26th Street in a house that they own worth $2200. This was the same house in which they had lived in 1935. Harry is a steel worker for an automobile body manufacturing company.
In the 1947 Milwaukee city directory, as Harry C Ellingboe, he and Margaret E live at 3048 North 26th. Harry is a steel worker. He was a high-school graduate.

Funeral services were conducted at the Vang Lutheran Church, Tuesday, July 21, at 2 p.m. for Chris O. Hagen, 78, by the Rev. B. J. Blikstad, pastor of the parish. Mrs. Blikstad sang "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Forbil Hos Mig" accompanied by Mrs. Cyrus Midje, the church organist. The pallbearers were James Haugen, Glenn Hagen, George Hagen, Delmar Hagen, Harold Hagen and Maurice Hagen. He was laid to rest in the Vang Cemetery. Chris O. Hagen, son of Ole E. Hagen and Mary Bakken Hagen, was born March 10, 1886, near Sogn in Warsaw Township, Goodhue County. He was baptized and confirmed in the Urland Lutheran Church. In 1911, he was married to Anna Haugen, who survives him. One daughter, Florence, died in childhood. Hagen spent most of his life in or near Dennison until they moved to Northfield in 1947. He was employed at Carleton College until his retirement. In 1962 they moved to St. Paul. He died at Ancker Hospital in St. Paul Saturday evening, July 18, at the age of 78 years. In the 1910 census, Albert and his family live in Murray Twp, Murray County, Minnesota. Living with the young couple and their son is Martha Rachuy, 13, “sister-in-law.” Martha was born in Nebraska.
He registered for the draft in Slayton, Minnesota, on 12 September 1918. At that time he was a farmer in Currie. He was described as of medium height and build with blue eyes and dark brown hair.
In the 1920 census, Albert and his family are still farming in Murray Twp. Now, however, he and Anna designate their parents’ birthplaces as Luxemburg although their native language is German.

Ronald S. Bergstrom (‘Bubs’) of Northfield formerly of Elko, MN, age 93, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2019 at Three Links Care Center, Northfield, MN. Preceded in death by parents Joseph and Florence Bergstrom of Elko, MN; sister Doris (Raymond) Cousins of Worthington, MN; brothers Loren (Vi) Bergstrom of Chaska; Duane Bergstrom of New Market/Morristown, MN. Survived by sister Marcella ‘Marcy’ (Gordon) Tripp of Santa Clarita, CA; Sister-in-law Bernice ‘Sis’ (the late Duane) of New Market/Morristown, MN. Loved by 13 nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Ron was born November 22, 1925, in Elko and was a longtime resident. He was Elko’s 1st city clerk from 1949 - 1967. He was a driver and co-owner with his father Joseph Bergstrom of Elko Grain & Feed for many years. Ron was a long time member of The Lions Club, enjoyed bowling, his dogs and spending time with family and friends.
