14251 Listed in the 1930 census. Not mentioned in her half-sister Shirley’s obit. Not listed with the rest of her family in Bingham Twp in the 1940 census. After her mother’s death she apparently moved to Illinois.

In the 1940 census, she was the 19 year-old Helen Bagge who was a student nurse at the Evanston Hospital in Evanston, Cook County, Illinois. She had been born in North Dakota and in 1935 she lived in St. Charles in Kane County, Illinois.

As Helen Powers, she survived her sister Beverly who died in 2013.

Helen B. Powers, 94, died Monday, May 18, 2015. Born on January 23, 1921, in Fargo, North Dakota, Helen later moved to St. Charles, Illinois, where she met her late husband, Robert T. Powers. They were high school and college sweethearts and married in 1943. They spent 54 happy years together until his death in 1998. As she began to lose her memory in 2003, Helen joined the Rush University Memory and Aging Project, hoping to benefit Alzheimer's research. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Campbell of Wilmette; daughter, Susan Powers of Chicago, son, Robert Powers of Sedona, AZ, four grandchildren, Elisabeth Campbell Pudik, John Scott Campbell, Jessica Powers and Kristen Ehrlich and three great-grandchildren, Samuel, Lauren and Jane Pudik. Funeral services and interment are private.

In the 1949 Minot, North Dakota, city directory, he is Raymond W Ellingboe, a farmer living with his brother Marcus at 116 6th SE. The same information is in the 1950 census.

Registered for the draft on June 5, 1917, in the town of Franklin, Vernon County. He was single and a self-employed farmer living at Route 1, West Prairie. He was of medium height and build with blue eyes and brown hair.

He is, however, living with his parents in the 1920 census. He is also shown to be 27 years old in that census (January 13th).

His birth year is shown as 1893 on his gravestone.

In the 1930 census, he is single and lodging with the Knut Emerson family on South Main Street in the city of Viroqua, just around the corner from the Martin Larson household on East Maple Street. Martin’s occupation is salesman in the gasoline and oil business.

In the 1940 census (indexed as Mandahl), Martin, Mabel, and Tilman lived on a farm on McGraw Valley Road in Franklin Twp, Vernon County. The two men had 4th grade educations, Mabel was educated through the 5th grade. The farm they lived on was a rented farm and it was the same house in which they all had lived in 1935.

Per Judi, Mabel, Martin, and Tilman never married and lived together on the original farm and then moved into Viroqua.

In December of 1921, he was charged with manslaughter in being party to a fatal collision in which a “death car” struck and killed a man named Hoffman and his seven-year old son. The driver of the car was his brother-in-law, Thor Sebion. The charge against Martin was later dismissed.
