Ansgar Silas Eide, 93, a longtime resident of rural Carlisle, died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. ??He was born Nov. 13, 1913, on a farm near Gardner, Ill., the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Hauge) Eide. As a child he returned to Norway with his family, and started school there. Shortly thereafter they moved to the Rothsay area, and in 1926, settled in Carlisle Township. He lived in the Carlisle area until 2006, when he moved to the Sheridan House in Fergus Falls.??On April 4, 1942, he married Thora Sletten. The couple resided on the farm where they raised four sons. ??He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he was active in VSP, was active in the Eagles, and was a past school board member of rural District 226.??Ansgar was especially good with his hands, and loved woodworking and playing Bingo. For many years he enjoyed being a summer resident of Ten Mile Lake where he enjoyed fishing and his many friends.??Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Thora; one son, Terry Eide; and one brother, Edwin Eide.??Survivors include his three sons, Gary (Sally) Eide of Highland Park, Ill., Tim Eide of Fergus Falls, and Curt (Trish) Eide of West Fargo; six grandchildren, Sarah, Melissa, Lori, Kyle, Colin and Allison; three great-grandchildren: Jacob, Brett and Brady; two sisters, Mildred Sether and Bernice Kvern both of Fergus Falls; one brother, John (Beverly) Eide of Moorhead; three sisters-in-law, Alfreda Eide and Palma Martin, both of Fergus Falls, and Levine (Don) Mattson of Menominee, Mich.; one brother-in-law, Orvin (Vivian) Sletten of Salem, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.??Visitation: Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and one hour prior to the service at the church?Service: 2 p.m. Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls?Clergy: Rev. Anthony Louis “Tony” Milone, 67, of Elkhorn, Nebraska, passed away on March 7, 2024. He was born on June 11, 1956, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Louis Milone and Dorris (Morrissey) Milone.
Tony, as he was affectionately known, was a loving husband to his late wife, Judith Ellen Milone. He was a dedicated father to his daughters: Molly (Tanner) Holgate, Katrina (Jay) Katelman, and Michaela (Steven) Brown. Tony adored his grandchildren: Addison and Harper Holgate, Vivian and Parker Katelman, and Barrett, eagerly awaiting the arrival of Waylon Brown. He is also survived by his siblings: Thomas Milone, Mark (Christine) Milone, and Cindy (Jim) Ortiz; along with numerous cousins.
In his professional life, Tony worked at OPPD, Enron, and Northern Natural Gas. He was a proud graduate of Ralston High School and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Tony found joy in managing pools for the City of Omaha, teaching swimming, and spending time at the casino.
Tony will be remembered for his infectious smile, humor, intelligence, and kindness. His grandchildren fondly recall him as someone who always brought laughter and joy into their lives. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. | MILONE, Anthony Louis (I42737)

Anton may have been adopted by Bernt. His confirmation record in Inderøy is for Iver Anton Jonsen Aarfald, born in Gran, 29 June 1879, bapt. 27 July. He was living on Aarfald, “with Bernt.” The Gran birth records for that portion of 1879 are not in Digitalaarkivet.
He is recorded in the Sakshaug, Inderøy, church book’s emigration records as Iver Anton Jonsen Aarfald, leaving the parish in 1900 for Amerika. He was not listed with Bernt and Ane in the 1900 Norwegian census.
In the 1905 census he was a mechanical laborer in Itasca County, Minnesota. He had been in the state for 5 years and in the local area for 3 years.
In the 1910 census he is a single, 30 year-old, diamond driller living in a construction camp, probably for a railroad, in Nashwauk Twp, Itasca County. He came to the U.S. in 1900.
Registered for the WWI draft on September 12, 1918, as Anton Jonson Orfold. His address was general delivery, Buhl, MN. He was a naturalized citizen and was employed by the Duluth Diamond Drill Co. as a diamond drill runner. He lists his nearest relative as John Orfold of Biwabik. He is described as short, of medium build, with blue eyes and brown hair.

In the 1930 census he was 50 years old and living with John and Marie Orfald in Biwabik. He had no occupation.
In the 1940 census, he was 66 and worked as a laborer in an ore mine.
In the 1950 census, he was living as a “lodger” with his niece Edna Cartwright and family in Biwabik.

Anton O. Berge, 94, of rural Valders, died Tuesday evening at Manitowoc Memorial Hospital after an illness of 10 days.
Mr. Berge was born in the Town of Liberty, Manitowoc County, on April 10, 1864, a son of Ole and Berit Weblin Berge, and was married to Olena Gistad at Valders Evangelical Lutheran Church Oct. 5, 1887. She passed away Feb. 7, 1954. He farmed in the Town of Liberty all his life and served as clerk of Sunnycrest School. He was a charter member of the Valders church.
Mr. Berge leaves seven sons, Oscar, of Addison, Ill., Albert, of Rt. 2, Reedsville, Norman, of Manitowoc, Orrin, of Cleveland, Harold, of Milwaukee, Walter, of Valders, and Oley, on the homestead farm; six daughters, Mrs. Belinda Klann and Mrs. Ruth Bleck, both of Valders, Mrs. John Reinertson, Riverside, Ill., Mrs. Kenneth Johnston, Manitowoc, Mrs. Marvin Berge, Dekalb, Ill., and Mrs. Harold Gram, Chicago; 33 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; a brother, Andrew, Valders; and a sister, Mrs. Mollie Finkelson, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be held at Valders Evangelical Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Jerry Moe will conduct the services, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Berge Funeral Home in Valders from 4 p.m. Thursday until noon Friday.
