Leo was a 22 year old railroad worker, still single, living as a roomer in Breckinridge, Wilkin County, MN, at the time of the 1910 census.
He registered for the draft on June 5, 1917, as Leo Vincent Fautch in Stevens County, Washington. He was married with a child and living in Marcus, Washington, where he was employed as a clerk for the Great Northern Railway Company in Marcus. He was described as of medium height and build with grey eyes and brown hair. He claimed to have had some military experience due to one year at a military college.
He is called Leonard V. on his children’s birth records.
In the 1920 census, he is Leo Fautch (indexed as Foutch), 31, living with his family in Spokane, Washington, where Leo is a chief clerk for the railroad.
He registered for the World War II draft in 1942. At that time, he lived at 821 S Perry in Spokane. He was employed by the Great Northern Railroad. He gave as the “person who will always know your address” Herman Fullner of Spokane.
In the 1930 census, as Leo B Fouch, he and his family live in Spokane. Leo is a clerical worker for a railroad. He was not a veteran. Seven nuns, who teach in a “private school”, live four houses away.
In the 1940 census, he was Leo V Fautch, an accountant for a railroad. He and his family lived in Spokane. Their older daughter is no longer at home.

Leola was an unmarried twenty year-old servant girl living with the Leo Jordan family in St. Paul in the 1930 census.
Leola was educated through grade 12 and was a school teacher. She lived in Lake Mary Twp, Douglas County, at the time of her death (Route 2, Box 484, Alexandria).

Leon Clifford Willett, 96, a resident of Pullman, Wash., died on Thursday, Sept. 23, at Pullman Regional Hospital of age-related causes.
Leon was born Jan. 25, 1914, in Glendive, Mont., to Clifford and Pearl (Thompson) Willett. The family moved to Forsyth, Mont., where he and his twin sister, Leona, started school. After living for a time with their grandparents in Lusk, Wy., they moved to Ivanhoe, Minn. with their father and stepmother.
Then the family moved to Northfield, Minn., where his father found employment at Carleton College. During the Depression, Leon served in the Civilian Conservation Corps.
In Northfield, he met Inga Overby, and they were married on Feb. 9, 1935, in Faribault, Minn. They made their home in Northfield for many years. For most of their time there, Leon worked for Carnation Milk at its Northfield Milk Company facility. His hard work and sense of fair play led to his promotion to foreman over men many years his senior.
When the facility was closed in 1963, Carnation transferred him to Waverly. After retirement in 1977, Leon and Inga moved to Pullman to be close to their oldest son, Roger. In the spring of 2009, he sold the family home and moved to an independent living apartment at Bishop Place in Pullman.
Leon enjoyed gardening and keeping his yard in tip-top shape. He was very proud to have won the Pullman Yard of the Month award. He also enjoyed woodworking, making cedar chests for his daughters-in-law and granddaughters, and school desks for his grandsons. He also made an impressive array of knife holders and trivets. He and Inga were very active in church activities and thoroughly enjoyed interactions with the young college students in their group.
Leon was preceded in death by his wife, Inga, on Sept. 26, 2000. He is survived by their sons, Roger of Pullman, and Bryce of Carlsbad, Calif., and their spouses Thelma and Melinda, by a half-sister, Marrianne Casteel of Phelan, Calif., and by 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Leona; his brother, Duane; two half-brothers, Arnie and Clifford Jr.; and three half-sisters, Phyliss Hussy, Bernyl Ness and Marlene Person. | WILLETT, Leon Clifford (I28612)

Leon Hanford Lindley, 80, of La Porte City, formerly of Osage, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002 in his home following a short illness of cancer. Memorial services were held Saturday, Nov. 23, 2003 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Washburn. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Rock Creek Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife Georgia, three sons Larry and wife Hetti of Hampton, Terry and wife Carol and Leon Jr. and wife Sandra all of La Porte City, two daughters Carolyn Hewitt and husband Ron and Marilyn Lindley all of Des Moines, a sister Ione Anderson of Northfield, Minnesota, sixteen grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Harlan and a son Steven.
Leon was born November 4, 1922 in Osage, Iowa to Carl and Cora Kensrue Lindley. He married Georgia I. Pike on September 8, 1943 in Bethany, Missouri. He was an Electrician working for several different companies. He served in World War II with the U.S. Marines. | LINDLEY, Leon Hanford (I42890)

Leona "Jean" Bergum, 80, of Viroqua, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009.
Jean was born to Leonard and Iva (Cole) Skrede on Feb. 11, 1929, in Vernon County. She was united in marriage to Alf "Joe" Bergum on Aug. 23, 1947, and later divorced in 1983. Jean loved to cook, dance, sing, and play cards. She managed the VFW kitchen for many years and cared for adults with disabilities until retirement. Jean served as a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and the Rachael Circle at the Bad Axe Lutheran Church. She had many friends and was well known for her quick witted sense of humor. There is a special place in our hearts that only you can fill. We will miss you dearly.
Jean is survived by her children: Deborah (Gerald) Wurl of Janesville, Cynthia (Gerald) Amundson of Janesville, and Lori Krause of La Farge; her grandchildren: Robert (Pam) Oliver of Janesville, Shannon Oliver of Viola, Shelly (Patrick) Anderson of Janesville, Danielle Amundson of Janesville, and Andrea (Nicholas) Gilberts of Prairie du Chein; sisters: Muriel Halverson of Viroqua, Connie Nundahl of Janesville, and Jan (Marlen) Halverson of Soldiers Grove.

Leona Gertrude Nundahl, age 92, of Viroqua, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020, at Vernon Manor Nursing Home. She was born on July 21, 1927, in Richland Center, WI to Lewis and Grace (Weldy) Wallace. She married Bernie Strait in 1955. After his passing, she married Gordon Nundahl on Nov. 23, 1974. They lived in Readstown, WI, then moved to Boscobel, WI where she was an assembly line worker. She was a member of Kickapoo United Lutheran Church at Folsom. She enjoyed small game hunting, gardening and canning tomatoes. Leona was a dedicated Brewers fan, knew stats of every player and was thrilled when she saw a game in Milwaukee. She grinned as she told detailed jokes, especially about Ole and Lena.
Leona loved old time music and would travel to see area polka bands. Being an example of true kindness, she cherished her family and animals, especially her parakeets.
Survivors include her children: Linda Braziel, New Mexico; Gene (Bonnie) Nundahl, Westby; Linda (Robert) Morrison, Viroqua, Debra (Brad) Strupp, Reedsburg; grandchildren: Holly & Jason Braziel, Heather (Mark) Bergman, Chelsie Nundahl, Ryan (Jen) Morrison, Cody (Eryn) Morrison, Tyler Morrison, and Jordan (Melissa) Strupp; great-grandchildren: Kendra, Kyle & Katelyn Nundahl, Olivia Morrison, Kai Morrison, Maddox & Mason Bergman; sister-in-law: Burnelle (Bob) Crumrine; Jill (Jim) Atchison, Joyce Lenser, Selma Wright and many other nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.

Leonard Johnston, 73, of Valders, died Tuesday evening at Fenlon's Bowling Alley, Valders.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. The Rev. Robert Onkka will officiate and burial will be in Valders West Cemetery.
Mr. Johnston was born Aug. 6, 1898, in the Town of Cato, son of the late Otis and Ida Quilly Johnston. He was the Standard Oil agent in Valders for 37 years retiring in 1961. He married Irene Torrison June 14, 1922, at Valders. Mr. Johnston was charter member of the Valders Lions Club, president of the Valders Public Utilities and a member of the Eagles Aerie No. 706 of Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Warren of Horicon; three daughters, Mrs. Art (IdaBell) Steinhilb of Phillipsburg, N.J., Mrs. James (BernaDean) Berge of Milwaukee and Mrs. Donald (Shirley Bushman of Fort Clayton, Canal Zone, Panama; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Christianson of Valders and Mrs. Earl Berge of Rt. 1, Valders; and 10 grandchildren.
