Lennart Eugene Johnson, 84, of Belvidere, died February 13, 2010 in Scottsdale Healthcare, Scottsdale, AZ. He was born October 15, 1925 in Chicago IL, to Bengt and Elsie (Davidson) Johnson. Married Jeanette Giere on May 29, 1948 in Menomonie, WI. She died on January 5, 2006. Lennart served his country in the US Army, receiving 2 Bronze stars, the Good Conduct Ribbon and the Purple Heart during WWII. Worked as a carpenter for Chrysler, member of Zion Lutheran Church, Moose Club, VFW and American Legion in Belvidere. He spent half the year in Belvidere and the other half in Mesa, AZ. Survivors include son James (Cindy) Johnson of Mackinaw, IL and daughter Kirstin (David Hammerslag) Johnson of Gilbert, AZ; grandchildren Jessica Johnson, Benjamin, Emily and Sarah Hammerslag; and sister Thelma Nelson of Klamath Falls, OR. Preceded in death by his parents and brother John.
