"Ole O. Thompson, an old and respected citizen of Plum Creek valley, died suddenly of heart failure on February 12th, 1915, age 70 years, 1 month and 12 days.
He was born in Etriedalen Norway and came to ths country when a young man in 1866.
In 1870 he was married to Thora Olson and they settled on the farm in Plum creek valley where he had resided up to the time of his death.
He leaves an aged widow and five children to mourn his death, namely:
1. Sarah, Mrs. Chas. Knutson of Lakes Coulee (Blair);
2. Gabe of Stanley, N.D.;
3. Gustave of Donaldson Minn.;
4. Christ on the home farm;
5. Olive, Mrs. Albert Mallum of Ervin coulee
and one sister, Mrs. Ole Narveson of Plum creek valley.

Jerry Marrin was born November 18 1915 in Minneapolis to Jasper and Adelaide (Mayer) Lapping. She grew up in SE Minneapolis and was a 1933 graduate of Minneapolis John Marshall. She showed an early aptitude for music. While in high school, she and two friends formed a trio, the Sophisticates, won numerous talent contests and sang regularly on WCCO radio opposite the Andrews Sisters.
After high school, the trio joined the Bernie Cummins Orchestra. Jerry adopted the stage name Jerry Lang and toured extensively with the orchestra during the 1930s. When the trio later disbanded, Jerry became lead vocalist with the orchestra. She sang at the Waldorf Astoria in New York, the Palmer House in Chicago, the Palace Hotel in San Francisco and in many other ballrooms across the country.
She left the orchestra in 1939, returned to Minneapolis and met Francis J Marrin. They married on July 10 1941 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. They settled in SE Minneapolis and raised seven children.
After her marriage, Jerry continued her love of music and imparted it to her children. She was a mainstay of the choir at St Lawrence Catholic Church for many years, sang in church-sponsored musicals and variety shows, studied opera and piano at the MacPhail School of Music in Minneapolis and became an accomplished classical pianist. She and her husband moved to St Cloud in 1991.
She is survived by her 6 sons, their wives, daughter, her husband, 2 sisters, one brother-in-law, 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ella Nordgaard, 85, Fergus Falls MN died at Lake Region Hospital. Services will be at First Lutheran Church. Burial in South immanuel Cemetery, rural Rothsay.
She was one of five children of John and Dina (Ryness) Nordgaard. She had a twin sister, Mabel.
Survivors include a stepsister, Cornelia Rorvig of Rothsay, a brother, Selmer Nordgaard of Rothsay.

Ernest R Mogdal, 78, Fergus Falls MN died at Lake Region Hospital. Services will be at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
He was one of four children born to Swen and Anna (Berg) Mogdal. On Oct. 22, 1960, he and Beulah Watkins Hultman were married.

Funeral services for Lary E Veazie, Underwood MN, who died in a single car accident, will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.
He was born July 11, 1950, a son of Mr and Mrs Ernest Veazie. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps. He was married to Virginia Gronseth at Jacksonville, N C May 28, 1970.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Lary Eugene Veazie II, his parents of Fergus Falls and a brother Gary, Cleveland Ohio.

Hans Davidson was born in Eidsvold, Norway, June 12, 1848, of parents, Mr and Mrs Dave Mokjubakken. Twenty-five years old he set out for America, arriving in Chicago in the spring of 1873. In the early summer he decided to go farther west and went to Milwaukee, the later, toward fall, came to the then sparsely settled Christiania community. That same fall he was united in marriage to Miss Caroline Anderson of Chicago. Their union was blessed with two children, Dina and Adolph, both now residing on farms close to Elko. The daughter is now Mrs Chris Christensen. In 1878 Hans Davidson purchased a farm in Scott county where he continued to farm until his health broke down. Eight years ago he suffered a stroke in which he lost his speech, and has been poorly ever since, suffering several minor strokes. For the last three months he has been confined to his bed. On Tuesday morning, November 14, 1935, he slumbered away peacefully. His wife preceded him in death on April 22, 1921. They are now entered side by side in the old Christiania Lutheran Free Church cemetery where the family tombstone marks their last resting place. The funeral took place Monday afternoon, 1 o'clock at the home, and 2 o'clock at the church, Rev J. P. Langsjoen officiating. Rev C. L. Christensen of Northfield, student pastor Hinderaker, and the son, Adolph Davidson spoke in turn at the church service which was attended by a church-full of mourners. Many wreaths were placed on the casket, and several gifts of money were given to charitable institutions, the missions, and one to WCAL radio station. Hans Davidson issurvived by two children, Mrs Chris Christensen, and Adolph Davidson. Both of these survivors and their families had done all that human love and strength could do to make his last years as comfortable as possible. He also leaves to mourn his death, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and a community of distant relatives and friends who learned to love the quiet old man who did not complain of his hard lot these last years. | DAVIDSON, Hans (I14844)

Nellie Hultman, 84, Fergus Falls MN died Nov. 23 at Lake Region Hospital. Services will be at Augustana Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens.
She was born Aug. 12, 1895 to Chris and Jennie Cagely at Magnet NE and married Arthur H Hultman Sept. 29, 1918.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, LT Col Russell L Hultman.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs George (Loretta) Liljestrand and Betty Jane Holt, both of Fergus Falls and Mrs Gary (Donna) Weyland of Gilbertsville IA; two sons, Willis A and James K, both of Fergus Falls; three sisters and two brothers.

She died Saturday (Aug. 11, 2007) at the Grand Meadow Health Care Center, where she had resided for the past seven years.
Dolores Skogstad was born Oct. 8, 1924, in rural Grand Meadow, near Bear Creek. She attended rural elementary schools and graduated from Grand Meadow High School in 1943. While going to school, she worked at the telephone office in Grand Meadow. Following graduation, she worked at Nashold's Cafe and Waters Conley in Rochester. On Sept. 13, 1946, she married Edwin Guy, and they farmed in the Grand Meadow area for several years. After moving to Grand Meadow, her husband worked as a mechanic and she was a homemaker rearing 10 children. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, flowers and plants.
Survivors include her children, James Olson of Grand Meadow, Gary (Jeanie) Guy of Spring Valley, David Guy of Stewartville, Steven (Sharon) Guy of Elkton, Richard (Chris) Guy, Donna Guy, Patrick Guy, Michael Guy and Sherrie Scrabeck (Kevin Queensland), all of Grand Meadow, and Deanna Guy of McIntire, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983.

NORTHFIELD--Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Wangen, 87 years of age, who passed away at the Northfield hospital Monday Aug. 8 after a long illness were held Friday afternoon at Urland Lutheran church. The Rev. B. J. Blikstad officiated at 2:00 o'clock. Burial was made in the church cemetery. Mary Ellingson was born in Leon township on July 22, 1868 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christ Ellingson, pioneer residents of the Cannon Falls community. She grew to womanhood on the family farm home south of Cannon Falls and in 1901 she was united in marriage to Olaf K. Wangen who passed away in May 1918. Mrs. Wangen is survived by four daughters, Mrs. B. H. Kasas of Dennison, Mrs. Elsie Lysne and Mrs. Ray Otis of Northfield and Mrs. Emma Truax of Minneapolis; three sons, Carl of Red Wing; Myron and Arnold of Cannon Falls, 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
