1261 An article in the December 11, 1906, Minneapolis Journal describes her as being 70 years old but deaf. Her son Ira had her declared incompetent to manager her affairs, valued at $50,000, and the Minnesota Loan & Trust Co. was appointed guardian of her property. BUTLER, Eunice L (I28513)
 
1262 An article in the Duluth News-Tribune, Februarly 23, 1916, shows that Orris was a member of the Biwabik volunteer fire department.

He registered for the draft on June 5, 1917, in Kinney in St. Louis County. He was a locomotive engineer for the Deau Iron Company and the “Deau mine near Kinney.” He was married with one child. He was described as tall and of medium build with grey eyes and light brown hair.

In the 1920 census, he and Alma and their two children were living in Great Scott Twp, St. Louis County. Orris was a stationary engineer for an iron mine.

In the 1930 census, the family lived in Missabe Mountain Twp, St. Louis County. Orris worked in an iron mine. He was not a veteran.

In the 1940 census, Orris (indexed as Gane), Alma, and their grandson Peter and “granddaughter” Dennis Wannebo lived in Biwabik. Orris and Alma lived in the same house in 1935. Peter Wannebo had lived in Virginia in St. Louis County in 1935. Orris’s occupation was shop work in an iron ore mine.

1263 An article in the February 26, 1959, edition of The Oregonian, described her wedding to Robert Owen Bye. Her parents were Inez MacKenzie of Portland and Charles MacKenzie of Beaverton.

A Charlene J Fisher, b. 27 Dec 1937, lived at 14025 SW Cherryhill Drive in Beaverton with Jack R Fisher, b. 18 Jan 1936.

1264 An article in the July 12, 1940, edition of the Brainerd newspaper, datelined Dykeman, noted a surprise birthday celebration for her. “Guests included Mrs. Charlotte Evenson, Mrs. P. B. McTague, Mrs. James Shaw, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Johnson and son, Gerald, all of Duluth; Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Davis and sons, Gordon and Jackie, and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Crowell and daughter, Dorothy, of Deerwood; Mrs. W. H. Crowell of Brainerd, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Davis and Kathryn and James.”

She is probably the daughter of Frank and Selma Johnson, both Swedish immigrants. The family lived in Maple Grove Twp, Crow Wing County, in the 1900 census.

1265 An article in the Los Angeles Times in May of 1955 said that Daryl Dawson, a graduating senior at Mark Keppel High School, received a California Scholarship Federation grant to attend Stanford University.

In the 1956 city directory for Alhambra, he is listed as an attendant at Dolphin’s Ambulance Service of Alhambra. He lived in Monterey Park.

Shown as a lawyer, living at home in Monterey Park with his mother and brother, in the 1963 Monterey Park city directory.

At one point in his career he was an Associate Staff Counsel, Business Affairs, for Stanford University. His business telephone number at that time was Davenport 1-2300, extension 4556. He graduated from Stanford Law School in 1962. He also received an undergraduate degree from Stanford.

Probably the Daryl Craig Dawson living at 4619 Orchard Avenue, #103, in San Diego. His birthday is shown as 15 Apr 1937. The U.S. Public Records Index also has that Daryl’s birthday as 29 April 1937 and includes a 1980 address at 3483 Thomas Drive, Palo Alto. At those same addresses, the Public Records Index includes a Vivian V Dawson, born 15 Jun 1934 (1993, San Diego) and 19 April 1933 (1980, Palo Alto).

In one phone directory entry, he is shown as having a wife Vivian. That Daryl C Dawson married Vivian V Hargis/Kostka, b. ca 1933, in Santa Clara County on 10 Nov 1973.

As of December, 2007, BlockShopper Phoenix listed Daryl C and Vivian V Dawson as the owners of 5318 N. 24th Place in Phoenix-Camelback East, AZ, 85016. This is a property in the Arizona Biltmore Country Club census tract and is part of the Colony Biltmore condominium development.

In 2009, he was living at 5318 N 24th Pl in Phoenix. His California Bar ID is 32846 but his status is inactive. His date of admission to the California Bar was 7 June 1962.

Attended the 50th reunion of his class at Stanford Law School in October of 2012.

1266 An article in the Manitowoc Herald-Times, 17 Jul 1924:

Mr. and Mrs. Knut Robley, pioneer residents, celebrated their sixty-first wedding anniversary Saturday, relatives and friends calling to pay their respects and tender congratulations. The Rev. O. K. Espeseth of Manitowoc conducted a short sermon appropriate to the occasion and a dinner was served.  Mr. Robley is eighty-five and his bride of sixty-one years is eighty-one. Both were born in Valders, Norway and came to the United States together in 1854, he being a lad of fifteen while she was eleven. They were married July 12, 1863, and took up their home on a farm near the village of Valders (Wisconsin) where they have lived for half a century, retiring ten years ago to take up their home in the village where they had a new house erected. The couple has one son, Carl, living at Milwaukee, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Years ago Mr. Robley was chairman of the town of Liberty for many terms and also president of the Scandinavian Mutual Insurance company. The community extended well wishes.

1267 An article in the Marshfield News-Herald says that he was found dead on the late afternoon of 14 June 1986 in the town of Eaton Road, Greenwood. His body was found near his car.

He was survived by three daughters and eight sons, 19 grandchildren, six sisters, and one brother. He was predeceased by his wife, has parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

1268 An article in the Minneapolis Star, Wednesday, 18 Aug 1926:

The charred body of Miss Inga Litsheim, 26, missing daughter of Mrs. J. O Litsheim of Kenyon, was found in the ashes of a haystack here by searchers. Identification was made by the mother through metal buttons on the daughter’s clothes. Miss Litsheim was discharged from the Rochester state hospital last Monday and has been missing since Thursday.

1269 An article in the October 14, 1930, edition of the Bellingham Herald, recalling events from 25 years earlier (i.e., October of 1905), mentions that “a number of the unmarried young ladies of the First Congregational Church met last evening with Miss Belle Williams at her apartment in the White House to discuss plans for the organization of a social club.”

Not living with her father and family in the 1910 census.

Her article on her death appeared in the July 30, 1908, edition of the Bellingham Herald:

Anna Belle Williams, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Williams, who died early Tuesday morning, was buried this afternoon from the First Congregational church, Rev. William Orr Wark officiating and delivering the final tribute to the young woman.

Ther church was crowded with sorrowing friends of the deceased and the casket was piled high with floral tributes of every size and description. Out of respect for her father, who is a court officer, Judge Neterer of the superior court adjourned court this afternoon while the funeral is being held.

From the article on her mother’s death, we learn that Belle was a school teacher and died from tuberculosis.

1270 An article in the Oregon Dail Journal, April 9, 1919, headlined Cowlitz Boy Fought With Lost Battalion:

W. H. Williamson, a brother of the Estes Williamson, who is a Kelso high school boy, was a member of the famous “lost battalion” in the Argonne battle where he was severly gassed. He arrived in the hospital in San Francisco a few days ago according to a letter received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Williamson of Stella. Young Williamson lost his power of speech from the effects of the gas and his parents have not learned whether he has regained his speech or not.

He registered for the World War II draft in 1942. He worked for Standard Logging Company of Cochran, Oregon, and lived with his parents on Route 2, Longview, Washington, in Cowlitz County.
