Almich, LaVonne D., ge 84, of Elk River, passed away on July 26, 2014.
Preceded in death by her husband Walter, parents Knute & Helen Simonson; sister Lorraine Cameron. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and aunt.
She is survived by sons; Steve Rouse, Dave Rouse and Mike Almich; daughter-in-law Melissa (nee Christy) Almich; grandchildren Madisen Almich, Michael Almich and Maverick Almich; also survived by sisters Hazel Huspek, J udy Moritz; brother Kenneth Simonson; sister-in-law Beverly Almich and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she cherished. | SIMONSON, LaVonne (I32036)

Selma (Sally) Sherry, 79, of Onalaska, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 13, 2007.
Sally was a devoted wife for 59 years, loving mother and a wonderful grandmother. Sally Sherry was born March 2, 1928, at Mason City, (rural Viroqua) Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert and Bertha Ekum. Upon graduation from Readstown High School, she worked in the offices of the J.C. Penney store in Viroqua. Sally was united in marriage to Adrian Gerhard Sherry on December 4, 1947, in Viroqua. She and her husband lived and farmed at Kickapoo (rural Readstown) for 12 years prior to moving to Viroqua. In 1953, Sally began her work for the Stanley Home Products Company. During her illustrious career, Sally rose through the ranks from sales person to V.P., regional director, a position she held for 10 years before retiring in 1991. Sally made many lifelong friends during her Stanley career. Sally was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in La Crosse, where she devoted much of her time to volunteer work. Sally cherished her time spent with and caring for her grandchildren. She enjoyed travel, reading and taking care of her home and garden.
Survivors include her husband, Adrian of Onalaska; two children, Cynthia Wendel (David) of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Karl Adrian Sherry (Joyce) of Minnetonka, Minnesota; grandchildren, Mathew Weirauch of Manhattan Beach, California, and Elizabeth Weirauch (Mark Haley) of Ecuador; a sister, Dorothy McKittrick (Arland) of Viola; a brother, Thomas Ekum of Hutchison, Kansas; several in-laws, nieces and nephews and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Sally was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Ekum, Walter Ekum and Archie Ekum; two sisters, Theresa Clements and Selma Margaret Ekum. Sally will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 17, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Onalaska. The Rev. Roger Grow and the Rev. Liberty Lausterer officiated and burial was in the Viroqua Cemetery. | EKUM, Selma Mae (Sally) (I536)

Alphie J. Bunde, 96, formerly of Thompson, North Dakota, died February 14, 2011 at Augustana Care Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She moved to the Augustana Senior Apartments in 2001 and received loving care at the adjoining Care Center since 2006.
Alphie Josephine Hanson was born September 26, 1914 on her parents homestead farm near Braddock, North Dakota, not far from Bismarck. In 1928 her family moved to Grand Forks, where she graduated from Grand Forks Central High School and Aakers Business College. She married Wilfred Bunde October 23, 1948 and they made their home on a farm in Walle township south of Grand Forks. Wilfred died in a tragic farm accident in 1968. Alphie stayed on the farm until her move to Minneapolis in 2001 to be close to her daughters family.
Alphie worked in the Grand Forks County Treasurers Office part- and full-time for nearly 40 years, including 8 years as deputy treasurer and the 4 years before she retired as elected county treasurer. Alphie was active in the church and community her whole life but is perhaps best remembered for her beautiful singing, which was an inspiration to others until the end of her life.
Alphie was preceded in death by her parents George and Sina Hanson, beloved husband Wilfred Bunde, sisters Margaret and Helen and twin brother Alfred. She is survived by: daughter Sharlene (John) Hensrud, Golden Valley, MN; sister Lillian (Robert) Stadelman, Pound, WI; grandchildren Davin Hensrud (Laura Given), St. Louis Park, MN and Nissa (Dominique) Pierre-Toussaint, Golden Valley, MN; great-grandchildren Radley and Sina Given and Kennedy and Khalen Pierre-Toussaint; many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family members. Alphie lived a long and full life, inspiring all those whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed. | HANSON, Alphie Josephine (I39301)
