In the 1900 census, the married Peter Lindskog, with 10 children, was a boarder in a rooming house in Scandinavia, South Dakota. He worked as a railroad foreman and was born in Sweden in March of 1844.

In the 1911 Canadian census, he was a farmer in Wetaskiwin, Strathcona, Alberta, Canada.

He and his family came to Canada in 1902 and were naturalized in 1905.

Peter married Isabelle Marie WEFLEN. Isabelle (daughter of Torstein Torsteinsen KJØS and Marit Knutsdatter VEFLEN) was born in Jun 1873 in Minnesota; died on 12 Oct 1936 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada; was buried in Vang Cemetery, Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

The mother of Lillian was Isabelle Mathilda Wefler.

In the 1916 Canadian census, she was Isabell Lindskog, head of household, age 41, living in rural Westaskiwin. Living in her household were her children Ruby, 17, Earl, 14, Ray, 11, her niece Gladys Lee, 12, and a boarder (her future husband?) Albert Dahons, 35.

In the 1921 Canadian census, she was Isabel Dahons, living with her 2nd husband, Albert, in rural Strathcona, Alberta. Living with them were her children Earl and Ray.

Her brief obit was for Mrs. Isabella M. Lindskog. “She leaves a husband and six children: Mrs. Herbert D. Allen, Joppa, Maryland, Mrs. Melvin Jevne, Wetaskiwin, Mrs. Russell T. Farrell, Edmonton, Ruby H. and Earl V. at home, and Roy A. of Olympia, Washington.

In the 1865 Norwegian census, he is gbr on Veflen nedre. Besides Torsten and his (then-pregnant) wife and three sons, the household includes the 15 year-old Johannes Nielsen, farm laborer, the widow Marith Torstensdatter, b. 1793 in Øystre Slidre, Føderaadskone, the unmarried Knud Andersen, b. 1820, Føderaadsmand, Sigrid Olsdatter, b. 1827, Knud’s future wife, and Marith Knudsdatter, b. 1853, Knud A.’s daughter and (presumably) Torsten T.’s sister-in-law.

In the 1870 census (August 25), he and his family farmed in Freeman Twp, Freeborn County, Minnesota. (Their post office was Hartland, Iowa.) The household consisted of Tosten Wefflen, 35; Mary, 27; Knudt, 10; Tosten, 8; Mary, 6; and Betsy, 3. Betsy was born in Minnesota, everyone else had been borne in Norway. Knudt and Tosten had attended school within the past year.

In the 1880 census, he, as Torsten T. Weflen, and his family lived in Brookings County, Dakota Territory. The household consisted of Tosten T, 45, Mary, 39, Mary, 13, Betsy, 11, Ingebor, 8, Marie, 7, Andrew, 5, Mattie T, 1, Knut, 20, and Torsten, 19. The first three and last two were born in Norway, the rest in Minnesota. Ingebor and Marie were attending school.

His obit in the Wetaskiwin newspaper said that he had come to the U.S. in 1858 and lived there until 1896 when he moved to Alberta. He farmed in the Crooked Lake district until he retired in about 1904.

His obit said that he had two surviving daughters, Mrs. A. Dahms of Detroit and Mrs. Fred Nelson of Wetaskiwin.
