Arne Moen says that Sjur emigrated to the U.S. in 1853.

In the 1860 census, he, as Sever Thompson, and Ann and their two children, Betsey and Ole, lived in Kickapoo Twp, Bad Ax County, WIsconsin. Their post office was Readstown.

In the 1880 census, he, as Sever Thompson, lived with Ann and their children in Kickapoo Two, Vernon County.

Lois calls him Sjur Nundal.

Deir says that Thrond also had a daughter Gertrude who married an Oren and had two sons, Thomas and Ole, both born in 1868, who took the surname Thompson in the U.S.

Arne Moen calls him Anders Johanneson Volldal and says that Anders got the Ekra farm in 1784.
