In the 1935/36 Fergus Falls city directory, she was a dental hygienist for Dr. H. J. Laffitte. She boarded at 126 Channing Avenue W. Same in the 1937/38 Fergus Falls city directory. Same in the 1941/42 Fergus Falls city directory.

In the 1940 census, she lived with Hans and Marie Bye. She was a bookkeeper for a dentist’s office.

In the 1865 Norwegian census, she was Marit Martinusdatter, 17, a maid on the Aarnæs farm 64 in Stangvik.

In the 1900 census, as May Stangvik, she was a 51 year-old widow living with her family in North Germany Twp, Wadena County, Minnesota. She had had 8 children, all still living. She had come to the U.S. in 1897.

She was living at 108 Bancroft in Fergus Falls in the 1910 census. She was a 61 year-old widow. Living with her was her 19 year-old daughter Anna, an office girl in a dentist’s office.

She was living at 108 Bancroft Avenue in Fergus Falls when her son John registered for the draft.

In the 1920 census, indexed as Margaret Stangrik, she and Anna are still living on Bancroft.

She is “Maret” on her tombstone.

In the 1865 census he and his family lived on Thorviknæs (plads) in Stangvik. The household consisted of Martinus, 40, Maria, 38, Maria, 14, Lisabet, 11, Lars, 8, Ole, 6, and Sivert, 3. Also living with them were her mother, Maret Endresdatter, a 76 year-old widow, and Maret Endresdatter’s son Peder, a 43 year-old fisherman, unmarried.

As Martinus Torvik, living in Dane Prairie Twp, Otter Tail County, Minnesota, in the 1900 census, next door to Ole and Randi Aarnes. He and Maria had come to the U.S. in 1887.

In the 1905 state census, Martin, 78, Marie L., 78, and Marie, 53, live in Dane Prairie Twp next to Ole and Randi Aarness.
