Ida Lundberg Johnson and Josie Lundberg Peterson

These are cousins of Al Carlson, Ida Deiters, and Charlie Smith. Probably taken in the late 1940s when the sisters were in their 60s. Ida Johnson, with Al and Ida Deiters, visited Cora and Maurice in Bloomington in April of 1948 and June of 1952.

On the back of this picture, apparently in Ida Lundberg's handwriting, is "Me and Jose the kitchen part of my house." One of the Lundberg relatives says: "This is the house she built herself. I was told that her husband left her and she ended up in Nelson, British Columbia living with a miner. I never got his name but he got hurt very bad in an accident and crippled at the mine. She was named heir to his estate and got money from his estate when he died. She returned home to Preeceville after he died from the accident with the money from his estate. She built this house in the picture and it still stands in Preeceville, Sask., near the Curling Rink." Roy Carlson confirms that this is his grandmother and that this is the house where she lived in Preeceville when she and Charlie Johnson separated. Roy also says that he, Roy, stayed with his grandma at this house in the 1930s.
