  Notes	He and his sister Liv arrived in New York (Ellis Island) on April 30, 1907, on the SS Oscar II. The ship had left Oslo on April 19th. Bernt was 32, Liv was 18. The final destination of both was Willow City, North Dakota. In both cases, the relative they were going to join in Willow City was their uncle, Mr. John Tveten. He was presumably the “uncle” who had paid for their tickets. Although Bernt claimed to have been born in Telemarken, Liv claimed “Vestfjorddalen.” Bernt was 5 feet 11 inches tall with black hair and blue eyes. Liv was five feet tall with brown hair and blue eyes. Bernt has been in the U.S. for 8 years, 1899-1907, so he was apparently sent back to Norway to be a chaperone for his sister. He then returned to Norway for good in 1908. The Tveito farm is between the Bjørkhaug and Ingolfsland farms.
