His birthdate on his death certificate is April 6th. At the time of his death he was married and living at 721 Rosemary, Fergus Falls. The informant was Harry Hultman. Henry died of multiple cancers and had just had an operation to relieve pressure from a tumor on his spinal cord.

Mrs. Joseph (Effie) Kilde, 76, formerly of 416 S. Peck, died early this morning at Bend, Ore. Services will be Saturday, Sept. 19, at 2 p.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens.

The daughter of John and Augusta Hultman, she was born Aug. 27, 1905, at Milner, N.D., where she grew up. On Feb. 19, 1927, she married Joseph Kilde at Elbow Lake. The couple resided in Fergus Falls and International Falls before returning here in 1948. She was employed with Fergus Falls State Hospital for more than 21 years. In January 1971, Mr. Kilde died. Mrs. Kilde had lived with a daughter in Bend, Ore., the past two years.

She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church and of the L.C.W.

Surviving are five children, Mrs. Richard (Lois) Haney of Bend, Ore., Darold of San Jose, Duane of Bemidji, Dennis of Fergus Falls, and Mrs. Deland (Sharon) Bloch of Minneapolis; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Rasmussen and Mrs. Ralph (Myrtle) Nelson, both of Fergus Falls.

Memorials are preferred to Augustana Lutheran Church and to the Diabetes Foundation.

Arrangements are with Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls.

Loretta M. Liljestrand, 60, 517 E. Gustavus Ave., died early Monday morning, Oct. 18, at St. Luke's Hospital, Fargo. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Augustana Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Cemetery.

She was born to Arthur and Nellie Hultman on Oct. 23, 1921, in Fergus Falls, where she grew up and attended school. She was employed at St. Clair-Rovang's until she married George Liljestrand June 8, 1946, at Augustana Lutheran Church.

Beginning work at Falls Drug when that business opened, she had been currently employed there. In 1970 she received the Ambassador of Goodwill award from the Fergus Falls Chamber of Commerce.

She had been involved in youth activities, Boy Scouts, bowling and softball and enjoyed fishing. She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church and had been a member the L.C.W. Circle.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Jeff, Hovland, and Jike, Dilworth; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Betty) Nelson, Fergus Falls, and Mrs. Gary (Donna) Weyland, Gilbertsville, Iowa; two brothers, Willis and James Hultman, both of Fergus Falls; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be all day Tuesday at the Glende-Johnson-Nelson Funeral Home and one hour at church prior services Wednesday.

James R. Hultman, 78, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, surrounded by his loving friends, his wonderful nurses and caring staff of Midwest Home Health.

James was born on Jan. 20, 1931, in Fergus Falls, the son of Arthur and Nellie (Kegley) Hultman. Jim served in the U.S. Army from January 1951 to January 1953, serving in Korea.

Over the years Jim was employed at Hintgen-Karst as an electrician. He enjoyed repairing small engines and was a collector of various items, particularly International pickups. Jim enjoyed visiting with his many veteran buddies.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Kelly Kvidt; grandchildren, Jade and Zane; sister Donna Mae Weyland; his dog Brandi; and many friends.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 2012 at Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji. Military honors will be provided by the VFW #1260 of Bemidji. A luncheon will be served at the Bemidji Eagles Club following the service.

Duane was born April 18, 1933, in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, the son of Joseph and Effie (Hultman) Kilde. He was raised and educated in the Fergus Falls area and moved to International Falls where he completed his education. He worked as a psychiatric aide at Fergus Falls State Hospital for several years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953 until 1955 and was stationed in Korea. He married Dee Maurine Darst on May 15, 1954, in Beatrice, Nebraska. They moved to Bemidji. His father-in-law founded the Bemidji Fleet Distributors where Duane managed the store for many years until 1989. He then managed the Bemidji Eagles Club for a number of years. He was a fireman for the Bemidji Fire Department from 1967 - 1988. He was a member of the VFW Post #1260, the American Legion Post #14 of Bemidji, Bemidji Aerie #351, and the Moose and Elk Lodges. He enjoyed fishing with his friends and family, hunting, camping, and lately just having coffee and reminiscing about the past. His stories were always told with an entertaining blend of fiction and fact.

She was the maid of honor for her sister Sharon’s wedding. The newspaper article of the wedding, in December of 1961, referred to her as Janet Andrewjeski and her daughter, a flower girl, as Elizabeth Andrewjeski.

Her father’s obit referred to her as Mrs. T.E. (Jeanette) Thorson of Minneapolis.

A divorce filing noted in the December 12, 1958, edition of the Oakland Tribune notes “Andrewjeski, Janet vs. James.” The October 16, 1959, edition of the Oakland Tribune noted, under Divorces Granted, “Andrewjeski, Janet from James.”

She lived in Fergus Falls in the early 1960s. She was hospitalized at least twice in the summer of 1963.
