  Notes	Definitely the father of Manerva. According to her birth record, he was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky. His middle initial was C according to the death certificate of his son Grover. In the 1910 census, a 70 year-old David Banks “sen” (for Sr.?) lived in Holly Creek with his 18 year-old son Smalley. Jack Watkins was his next-door neighbor. Living with David and Smalley were two boarders, William, 16, and Ettie Taylor, 20. David Banks was shown as married for 57 years. A David Banks, a widower “about 76” years old and born in Kentucky to David Banks and Nancy Bailey, died in Wolfe County on 28 February 1915. The informant for his death certificate was Jack Wadkins of Vortex in Wolfe County. The Kentucky marriage records show a 28 year-old David McDaniel of Floyd County marrying a 22 year-old Hannah Banks of Wolfe County in Wolfe County on 4 June 1874.
