  Notes	Came to the U. S. in 1876 according to the 1910 and 1900 censuses, 1877 according to the 1920 census. Could not find him in the 1880 census. According to the record of his marriage to Sadie Smith, his parents were John Oakman and Augusta Jacobson. In the 1900 census, he and Sadie were living in Mountain Iron, Minnesota, where he was a “saloon keeper.” In the 1910 census, he and Mathilda were living in T64 R21 of St. Louis County where he was the owner of a “mill.” (Probably a saw mill.) In the 1920 census, he and Charlotte and Laverne were farming on Oakman Road in Leiding Township, St. Louis County, probably in or near the small settlement of Orr.
